While one of the vampires went to fetch the needle and thread - Nicoleta couldn't remember if he was Matt or Nathan - Nicoleta sent a quick text to the rest of the group: 'Found a new lead. Questionable sources are on the desk. Go and visit them. Keep me posted. - N'. She founded at a smudge of blood on the screen and tried to wiped it off, only to realize that it was dried to the screen and was probably there from before. Sighing, she put her phone away. Around that time, the vampire had come back and handed her what she needed. "Thanks" She mumbled, taking the supplies with her good hand. She poured the water over her arm, wincing as her cut stung. It wasn't a major cut, so Nicoleta decided to let it heal naturally. She then cleaned her hands off before following Jace over to the chair. "Shirt off." She commanded. Once he took it off, she cleaned the injured area with the water. Nicoleta had to admit, Jace wasn't a swore sight for eyes. He had a well built and a pretty face. She could get why he got around with some many girls. Jace's charm didn't work well on her though; it was his creepy personality that hindered her from feeling anything for the male slayer. She began to stitch Jace up while Matt explained the situation., her fingers occasionally, brushing past his cool skin as she worked. Nicoleta felt a little sorry for the two, it wasn't like either of them wanted to become monsters. Still, they were monsters nonetheless and Nicoleta had been trained from an early age to despise them. She cut the thread with her teeth before tying the a tight knot. The stitches should last. Nicoleta sighed before turning to the vampires. "I'm sorry." She said, but even she could hear how forced that was. She turned back to Jace when he explained how they earned his trust. "Well it Jace trusts you, I guess I should too." Doesn't mean she would like it though. The mere thought of working with vampires disgusted her, but if it meant putting an end to the bigger threat at hand, she would do it. "So, what was all of that a couple nights ago? I've never seen so many vampires in one place. It seems a little too risky feeding on so many humans in one place."
Alex came up behind Sarah, stopping a few feet away from the bench. He watched her for a few moments, watching the way the wind tussled her brown hair; a sight that seemed beautiful to him. He felt a buzz in his pocket and quickly read Nicoleta's text message. "Looks like we're needed." He spoke finally, no doubt scaring the crap out of her. He came around the bench and stood beside her, flashing her a smile a movie-star would be jealous of. "Sorry if I scared you." He offered her a hand.

Jace and the two vampires said nothing when Nicoleta said she was sorry. It was obvious, after all, that she was only saying it because it was the thing to do, not because she meant it. Jace was pretty sure, actually, that she didn't care. Perhaps she enjoyed the thought of their pain, since they were vampires. Either way, he thought as she spoke again. "Good," he murmured, nodding his head when she agreed to give them a chance, at least. When she asked about the other night, though, Jace turned his gaze from her to Nathan and Matt. "They should explain that," he said. The two vampires looked uncomfortable for a moment, but Nathan, the larger, light haired vamp, took the lead. "It was a party," he said simply. It seemed that was all that he was going to say, though, so Matt spoke. "All of the most powerful vampires were there, under Claudius' invite. He was hosting the party, though he undoubtedly thought it distasteful, under the guise of protection. You see, he told everyone to leave their guards at home and come to have some fun, out of the watch of the LC- er, you guys," he said, looking slightly embarrassed and uncomfortable once again. Running a hand through his brown locks, the young man spoke again. "He must have wanted you to know about it, though- he sent Nathanial an invitation as well," he said, his eyes troubled but voice soft as he once again reached out to touch the other man. After a short pause, he spoke again, his eyes turning back to Nicoleta. "He wanted you there to take care of the other prominent figures, so that he would be on top. It's like.." He stopped speaking, searching for a comparison. "It's the same thing kings did- you host a lovely party, know your enemy, and spring a trap. Stab them in the back, if you will. He had everyone intoxicated from the blood- the humans were laced- so they wouldn't get suspicious. He told us the location and the time, and we passed it to Jace, as he must have known we would. Your people showed up, and.." He stopped speaking, nodding his head somberly in recognition of the LC's deeds. "The humans didn't know anything, and no one was killed. They all woke up the next day with no knowledge of what had happened. No one will wonder a thing. We have lived this long because we know how to cover our tracks. Like you, we've adapted. Some of us have come a long way since the dark ages," he said. Jace said nothing, but he was smiling a little. If he was honest with himself, he was quite fond of the two vampires.

Sarah hadn't known Alex was behind her, not until he spoke, at least. She let out a cry of surprise and fright, only to see that it was Alex. "Why didn't you answer when I called to you?" she asked him, her face burning bright red. There was no way she could do what Violet had suggested now! He probably thought her a child, the way she had squealed. His smile made everything better, though- she was melting there, and her eyes probably showed it. "Needed?" she said, her voice slightly dreamy. She shook herself inwardly, though, and spoke again. "We have a job to do?" she asked. She took Alex's hand, though, and all thoughts of Nicoleta or the LC drifted away. She stood, but didn't let go of his hand, her large brown eyes peering up into Alex's eyes. She knew she should look away, that she should let go, but she couldn't do it. All she knew was the feel of her hand in his, their close proximity and the warmth of his body just out of reach. All she saw was Alex. All she felt was Alex. All she knew was Alex, and so, in that moment, Alex was everything.

Nicoleta's jaw tightened when Matt mentioned that Claudius had been using them. She felt like an idiot! It was not like she could have seen it coming, but she still felt stupid. She hated the feeling of being used. She was relieved to hear no one got hurt. After all, that was the reason they killed vampires; to save the Innocent. Nicoleta snorted in amusement when the vampire said they had come a long why since the ancient times. Yeah Right. Vampires were impulsive and violent monsters. These vampires may be able to control and keep themselves hidden, but many were not. Especially the newer ones. "What I don't get is that our sources told us that the party was happening on the other side of town. If what you say is true, that they wanted us there, why would they feed our sources wrong information?"
Alex didn't answer her first question, what could he tell her? 'Sorry I was just staring at you.' Like that wouldn't sound creepy. A tingle ran up Alex's spine when Sarah took his hand. It was soft and petite in his rough larger hand. It was a feeling he liked. Slowly he began to stroke the top of her hand with his thumb, as he - for the second time that day - got lost in her brown eyes. God, he wanted nothing more than to pull her close, wrap his arms around her, tilt his head down and kis- Alex's eyes widened. The hell was he thinking. That's when he realized what he was doing. He's cheeks burned and he quickly let go of the female slayer's hand. "Sorry." He mumbled before turning away, his back facing her. He tried not to show his embarrassment, luckily for him, he was good at hiding his emotions. "So um, Nicoleta wants us to check out some of the sources." He said, remembering her question from before. "She sent us a text. Anyway, we should get Violet and go. Wouldn't want to make the queen angry." How composed his sentences were was unbelievable. Inside, he was freaking the hell out.

Jace, too, felt a little upset when Matt said they had all been played. After all, he had thought they had finally gotten the upper hand on the older vampire, only to find that he had planned their presence all along. He didn't say anything, though, instead listening as Matt and Nathanial finished their tale. He almost smiled, one corner of his mouth tilting up slightly at Nicoleta's snort. He didn't say anything, though. She was already pissed, and he didn't plan on making it worse. "Ah," Matt said, looking away from Nicoleta to Nathan for a moment, searching for an answer to her questions. "He likes to play with his food," Nathanial said bluntly, his eyes gazing right into those of Nicoleta. "In this case, he wanted to toy with your group. With you, your cousin, the girl with the temper, the mousy one. All of you. Especially with you," he said, looking to his friend. Jace clenched his jaw and looked away, saying nothing. There was silence for a moment before Matt spoke, his voice soft, apologetic. "Claudius doesn't want the rest of the LC involved. Whatever he's planning, whatever he's going to do, it's big. He doesn't want slayers coming in and mucking it all up. Your group, though? You're obviously a part of it. For some reason, he wants to string you all along. If I were you," he said, his eyes sorry, "I would be careful."

Sarah's breath caught when Alex started to caress the back of her hand and she took a small step forward without realizing it. She was leaning in, her face coming closer to him, ready, waiting for his lips to come down on hers when- The connection was severed. Alex moved quickly away, dropping her hand as though she'd bitten him, his back suddenly to her. Sarah felt lost for a moment and could hardly listen as Alex spoke. Instead of saying anything about what had just happened, though, she nodded. "I'll see you inside then," she said, her voice quiet but words precise. With that, she began walking quickly back to the house, her eyes down, hair falling into her face just enough to cover up her broken, embarrassed expression. She didn't understand what had just happened. One moment, she had thought- she had actually believed that Alex was about to kiss her. That was a stupid idea, though, she thought to herself, disgusted with herself. He obviously didn't feel the way she felt about him. After thinking it over for a moment, she shook her head, stepping inside the kitchen. No. She didn't really feel anything for him. She squished any feelings down inside, deep inside, until she couldn't hear them. Instead of the hope, joy, and love she had felt moments ago, she now felt only and echo of disappointed longing..

Daniel smiled back at Lexsa, comforted by her own. At her and Will's shenanigans, he even laughed. "Alright," he said softly. "I'll stay. ...Thank you." He sat down then, still looking at the floor, but a trace of a smile still on his lips. All of a sudden, though, he could feel the laughter bubbling up inside of him until he couldn't hold it in anymore. He laughed so hard tears welled up and spilled down his face. "I'm sorry," he apologized, still shaking from his fit, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "It's just... I haven't laughed like this in a long time. You guys are so different than any other vampires I've known." He had a good feeling about these two, something that hadn't happened in a while.
Violet emerged from the basement, still panting slightly, rubbing her sweaty face with a hand-towel. She held her phone in her other hand as she leaned against the back door's doorframe, waiting for Sarah and Alex while looking at the text from Nicoleta. Well, she thought with a hint of chagrin, Jace must've spilled. I wonder how she got him to do that. This whole Claudius business made her uneasy, and so did Jace. The fact that he knew more than Nicoleta was weird and unnerving, especially because of the boy's dark temperament. She got lost in her thoughts for a second, yet again - it seemed to be happening to her a lot, which was strange for her. When she heard a noise, however, Violet looked up. "Oh, hey," she said when she saw it was Sarah. "How'd it - " She stopped when she saw it Sarah's strangely vacant expression. "Oh, uh, I guess not good?" Jeez, being sympathetic was hard.
[Last night I had a dream about Lamia Confectores, would you guys like to hear about it]

Nathan's eyes locked in on Nicoleta's and she couldn't help but feel goosebumps beginning to form on her arms from his words. Sure she dealt with a lot of creep and scary stuff - it comes with the job - but being referred to as 'food' and being 'played with' should definitely creep out any sane person. Nicoleta's gaze turned to the boy beside her when Nathan turned his attention to Jae. It was quite possible it was Jace, Claudius was after. He had the boy's mother after all. It could all be a scheme just to get him. But it was more than that, it was always more than that. She stared at Jace, waiting to see how the boy would react. When Nathan had finished, she turned her eyes back on him. "Unfortunately," - she shifted her gaze back to Jace - "'Careful' isn't something we do." She gave him a mischievous smile before turning back to the vampires. "Claudius is messing with the wrong group. You piss one of us off, you piss all of us off. And quite frankly I'm pretty pissed off. I know he is too, so what is this nut job planning?"
Alex watched Sarah leave, his heart sinking. He had offended her. God, how could he have been so stupid? He gritted his teeth before kicking the dirt in front of him. He clenched his fists before leaning against a tree. Why did everything have to get complicated? Why did he have to start liking Sarah? She was sweet, innocent, new to his messed up vampire world that he lived in. Alex had made somewhat of a promise to himself; never get involved with love. It was messy, especially for LCs. Just look what happened with his parents. He sighed before running a hand through his blond hair. He couldn't put Sarah through that pain, even if she did like him, which he clearly now knew that she didn't. After a few minutes, Alex made his way back towards the house. The last thing he wanted was an awkward car ride with Sarah, but he had a job to do.

Lexi smiled wide, practically beaming when Daniel laughed. She hadn't heard him laugh, or sound remotely happy, before that moment. It was a good sound, she decided. She clapped softly when he agreed to stay, obviously happy about it. "Good, thank you," she said to him, her eyes glittering. She watched him sit down, a smile still ghosting about his expression, when he suddenly started to laugh again. He laughed until tears came down his cheeks, and by then, the other two were laughing as well, though Will was more chuckling than chortling. Lexi hadn't felt that good in a long while. She didn't even know why she felt happy, she just.. Was. She calmed as Daniel did, smiling wide as he explained himself, nodding. "Last night was.." she paused, shaking her head a little. "We deserve to be happy, to laugh. We do," she said, nodding. Her voice had that assured tone to it again, the kind that made others want to agree. She had the qualities of a leader, even in this un-life, even if she didn't realize it. "Well, I'd hope we were," Will said, looking at Daniel with smiling blue eyes. "Different, I mean. Most of us are too wrapped up in politics. I remember good times, though- when no one worried about ruling everyone else. Vampires existed rather peacefully with each other back then," he said, his voice slightly dreamy. "Woodstock!" he said suddenly, sitting up with a grin. "Oh, loves, Woodstock. That, friends, that was a good time." He was still smiling as he took another drink, sinking back into his seat.

Sarah said nothing when Violet asked how things had gone- the other girl figured it out pretty quickly for herself. "He, um, the boy," she said quietly, "He didn't like me. I thought maybe he did, but I guess not. He's just-" at that moment, the kitchen door opened, making Sarah jump a little. It was Alex, of course. Who else? "Hi," she said, as though to make up for his entrance having scared her. "Are we ready?" she asked, suddenly hurrying the conversation along before it got awkward, "I'm ready. I'll um, meet you guys in the car," she said lamely. She turned and left, walking out to the garage before either one of them could stop her. Not that they would, she thought to herself, reminding herself once again that Alex didn't like her. Not the way she wanted him to, at least. With a sigh, Sarah opened the door to the back seat, taking her usual seat in the middle out of habit.

Jace said nothing, his gaze lost somewhere between the wall and the empty air as he tried to keep himself composed. He wasn't going to lose it. He wasn't going to say anything. He wasn't going to do anything. Breathe, he told himself, and unclench your fists. It took a moment, but he finally did. His body stayed rigid, though; that was something he couldn't help. "Right," Mattiew said, frowning a little as Nicoleta said they didn't do careful, "If there's one thing we've learned since we met Jace, it's that he doesn't do anything besides reckless, suicidal, or stupid. If he's on your team, how could you be careful?" Sighing softly, the man looked down, once again running a hand through his dark hair. When Nicoleta asked what Claudius was up to, he stopped. There was silence for a long moment before someone spoke. "Don't you get it?" Jace said, his gaze never meeting anyone's, his eyes vacantly staring at the far wall. "They don't know. I don't know, they don't know. No one knows. It was supposed to be my chance. I was supposed to kill him at that party. Be done with all of this. I just- I couldn't-" Jace felt something wet drip onto his bare chest and looked down, only to see a tiny drop of clear liquid. A tear, he realized. He was.. Crying. Not really crying, he decided as he brushed a hand across his face; he had only shed a single tear. "Dammit," he cursed himself, obviously angry at his own weaknesses. "What he's trying to say," Matt said softly, his eyes sad as he gazed at Jace then Nicoleta, "That was our big shot. It was the end all, really. Jace was supposed to take care of the problem. We didn't know, though.. We didn't know she'd be there," he said, his voice quiet. Matt sighed, shaking his head. "We can get more information, though. We just need.. We need time. We can do this, though," he said, his eyes looking up at Nathan before returning to Nicoleta. "We have to."

Nicoleta sighed when the vampires said they needed more time. She was frustrated, but she understood they were trying their best. Obviously this was more complicated then she previously thought. "Alright. Just let us know when you find stuff out. And when we can help." She then turned to Jace. "Why didn't you tell me any of these before? We could have helped killed Claudius." Her tone reflected her slight annoyance. Even though Jace had just flat out told her that he didn't need the LCs, he could have saved a lot of time and effort if he had let the group in on what he was doing. That's when Nicoleta noticed his teary eyes. "Guys, could you give us a minute?" She asked Nathan and Matt, not taking her eyes off Jace. When they had left, she put her hand on Jace's shoulder, turning him so that he was facing her. "I know this is hard, but it doesn't have to be. I get where your loyalties lie - with the slayers - but that doesn't mean we can't help you. You don't have to do this on your own Jace."
Alex could feel the tension as he entered the room. He froze in the doorway, his eyes shifting between Violet and Sarah, who wouldn't make eye contact with him. Before he could say anything, Sarah was out the door, heading for the garage. He sighed deeply before looking at Violet. "I'll get the papers." He knew she'd have something to say about the situation, but he didn't feel like discussing it with her. He headed into the den picked up the papers scribbled with addresses and names and then made his way back into the kitchen. "Let's get going." He mumbled before getting into the car. He made sure not to look in the back view mirror.

Violet couldn't say anything to Sarah before Alex entered the room. "Uh, yeah, I guess," she said in response. Violet rubbed the back of her neck, glancing between Alex and Sarah as the girl left. She was about to say something snarky to break the ice, but then Alex left to go get the papers. "I'll drive then!" she called out to everyone. She grabbed the keys off the counter and headed to the car. God, Nicoleta has to go off with Jace and do IMPORTANT things, while I'm stuck with relationship problems, she thought. "Well, where to, Alex?" she asked when everyone was present. She tried to ignore the tension in the air, but it was so thick she could almost physically feel it.
Daniel thought about Lexi's words for a while - it was an opinion he had never really thought about before. After decades upon decades of self-loathing, this idea that they, vampires, discusting creatures of death, deserved to be happy was almost alien to him. But her tone of voice, that self-assured attitude... well, he couldn't help but find himself agreeing with her. "Yeah, I guess we do," he said, almost surprised with what he was saying. When Will spoke up, he raised a curious eyebrow. "What's Woodstock?" he asked.

Alex was kind of annoyed that Violet was driving; he was looking forward to doing something to keep his mind off Sarah. That and he always drove. "Gold Key Antiques, on South." He handed Violet the papers, in no mood to play navigator. (That was bad sorry)

Nathan and Matt nodded simultaneously when Nicoleta asked to be clued in. It wasn't as though they had been the ones with the real problem with it in the first place- Jace had been too stubborn to let his team in. The two vampires could understand, though; this was revenge for him, not just the job. Jace wanted assurance, he wanted to know that, no matter what, Claudius would die by his hand alone. He didn't want to LC coming in and mucking things up for him. They nodded silently and left when the female slayer asked. When Jace was questioned by Nicoleta, he looked up at her, his face now clear of any sign that he had been upset. "I need this, Nic," the boy said quietly. "I thought I needed to do it alone, you know? He killed- ...Turned.. my mom," Jace said after a moment. "I want revenge. I didn't want anything getting in the way of that. There was no room for error. No room for mistakes, or for teenage drama. No place for people that don't get it," he said, shaking his head. "You, you might get it, but them?" he asked, gesturing towards the door, meaning the rest of the team. "You think they understand? You think Violet gets how it feels? Or Sarah, who doesn't seem to get anything?" he asked, brows rising. "They wouldn't. I couldn't take the chance that they'd screw something up. I didn't want this to happen," he said, nodding towards the spot Matt and Nathan had previously occupied, "I didn't want to end up with nothing." He fell silent for a while before he shook his head again and sighed. "I messed up, didn't I?" he finally asked, his voice no more than a whisper. Sighing again, he looked back up at Nicoleta. "About what I said earlier, about not caring?" he said, trying hard to find the words, and the right way to say them. "I didn't really- I mean, I-" he stopped himself and took a breath. "I do care. You need to know that. I do. I just.. Shouldn't," he ended.
«☼»
Sarah watched as Violet got up front, something that never happened. Alex always drives, she thought, but she said nothing about it. Alex was obviously unhappy, and she didn't want to make it worse. When he got in a mood, he could be almost as bad as Jace. When Jace was having a good day, at least. Sarah frowned at the thought, but when Alex shoved the papers off onto Violet, she sighed. "Here," she said softly, reaching forward to take the papers, "Let me. You shouldn't drive and read them," she said, almost to herself. Taking the papers back to her seat, she looked them over quickly. "Like he said, South. Just get out onto the road and I'll direct you from there," she said. That's exactly what she did.
«☼»
Lexi was pleased when Daniel said that he agreed, but had to stifle a groan when he asked about Woodstock. "Not that again," she said in a mock-dramatic voice. She was smiling though, even though her eyes were a little vacant. Will looked rather shocked that the boy didn't know about Woodstock. "When were you turned again?" he asked, raising a brow. He shook his head, though, smiling. "I'll tell you what Woodstock is- it was the best bloody get-together since.. Well, a long time!" The man was sitting up once again as he remembered the events that took place those four days. "Right, Woodstock. The Woodstock Festival was a three-day concert, but turned out to be four days. It involved lots of drugs, mud, rock music, and the old 'how's your father'," he said with a wink. He was met by a blank stare on Lexi's part, so he tried again- "You know, getting your end away? Bonking? Shag, love! There was a lot of shagging- you know, sex!" By this time, he was rather flustered, only making Lexsa laugh. "I knew what you meant. I just wanted to see how many ways you'd try to explain it," she said with a laugh." Will shook his head and went back to speaking. "Anyway.. It was a big music festival in '69, though they tried it again two more times.. Sixty-nine, though? Oh, it was the best," he said with a smile. Clearing his throat, he nodded. "Yeah, a lot of fun."

Nicoleta sighed when Jace mentioned Claudius turning his mother. She understood. It wasn't necessary for her to ask why he went rogue on this one; she would have done the same. Nicoleta glanced away when Jace said that she mignt get it. She did get it. Nicoleta had been born into this messed up vampire world and had seen things most young children should never see. She watched her uncle and father have to kill slayers turned by vampires, some even family. She closed her eyes at the memories, forcing the graphic images away. The others wouldn't get it. Someone had to have lived through some pretty dark situations in order to get to where Jace was currently at. With a sickening realization, Nicoleta saw that in some ways she wasn't so different from Jace. She blinked when Jace spoke again, having got lost in her own thoughts. "What?" It took her a moment to process what he had said. She sighed as he tried to somewhat apologize for what he had told her earlier about not caring. "No need for that. I get it. Slayers doesn't really have a choice in the matter, at least most of us don't. By Lamia Confectores law, you can't really leave, but if you want out I understand." She didn't know why she'd bend the rules for Jace, but she tried to tell herself that she'd do it in order to get rid of him, but that wasn't true. "Just know we're here for you... at least I am." She said nonchalantly, before sitting down in Jace's chair. It wasn't even noon and already so much had happen.
Alex didn't look at the girls as they exchanged the papers. He was acting rather childish - that, he was aware of - but he didn't care. He was experiencing so many emotions that were out of his control. So many emotions that the girl in the back seat was making him feel and for the car ride he had nothing to do but sit in the passenger seat with his thoughts. He sighed deeply before resting his arm on the door. It was going to be a long ride.

Violet raised an eyebrow at Alex as she let Sarah take the papers. Sure Alex always drove, but it wasn't like it was his job or anything. "Thanks, Sarah, wouldn't want to get into an accident," she said sarcastically, unable to help herself. She was referring, of course, to the night before. "At least I know how to stop at a red light." She said this without thinking like she always did, even though at the back of her mind she knew it wouldn't help Alex's mood.
Daniel looked a little scared at Will's exuberance, although it was well-mannered. "Uh, 1778?" he responded. He listened bemusedly as Will explained, complete with an equally blank expression that morphed into one of understanding. "I've never heard it described as the 'how's your father,'" he said with a laugh. "Sounds fun, though. I never heard about any of these things until they're over." Truthfully, it was because he tried to stay away from other vampires at all costs. But no more, he told himself.
[Wow this is sad]

Alex gritted his teeth when Violet made a reference to his driving skills from last night. Of course the red light comment set him off, but unlike most people, Alex stayed silent. He flashed the sassy female a death glare, looking about ready to kill her. It wasn't his driving he was mad about, it was the reminder of who caused him to drive poorly that upset him. After what had happened at the grove, he was trying hard not to think about her. Obivously, he wasn't doing to well. "Start the damn car." He commanded, his anger evident in his voice. They hadn't even let yet and the day had already turned bad. Alex prayed that they'd get some action that day; he needed something to take his frustion out on.

Violet somehow managed to evade Alex's death stare. Alex, compared to Jace, was a breeze when it came to keeping composure. Plus she could understand where Alex was coming from most of the time, while Jace was just an enigma to her. "Aye-aye, Cap'n," she said all too cheerfully. After a short, but painstakingly silent ride (except for Sarah's occasional direction-giving), they arrived at a run down apartment complex at the edge of the city. Violet climbed out of the car and leaned on her open door. "Which room number?" she asked Sarah.
[Sorry for the slight GM, I was trying to move this along]

Jace listened as Nicoleta spoke, but he didn't say anything more. He nodded his head to show that he had heard, but otherwise did nothing. His head was beginning to hurt, the throbbing starting at the base of his skull and washing over his temples, the beat of a pounding drum. Reaching up, both of his hands scrubbed over his face, a sigh escaping his parted lips. "So," he said, removing his hands to look at Nicoleta. "What now? We've got Mattiew and Nathan searching for clues, and the others are out talking to your- our," he amended, "Our sources. What do we do?"

Sarah had given directions as they came, her voice the only thing to cut through the thick silence. As soon as she fell silent again, though, the deafening lack of noise would crowd in on her once again, choking down her throat, tightening her chest, and making her feel more and more dismal. Finally, they had arrived. She looked down at the information written on the paper she held, her large brown eyes scanning through the information quickly, easily finding the room number. "Two twenty-four," she said, nodding her head as she looked up at Violet, her gaze unable to help but stray to Alex. He still seemed mad, though.. She couldn't keep her eyes there for long. She looked at the ground, biting her bottom lip.

Will grinned when Daniel said he hadn't heard of the "how's your father" way of explaining things. He didn't say anything, though, only nodded his head. "So, Daniel," He said after a moment. "What's your plan for today?" Lexi looked over at the vampire, her light blue eyes watching him. "Well, I don't have plans. I might stay in and watch a movie," she said quietly, thinking aloud more than talking to the others.

Nicoleta kept her eyes fixed on Jace, watching to see how he would respond to her offer. All she got from him was a nod. She was fine with that, so long as he knew what his options were. At his question, Nicoleta sighed, her fingers instincitively reaching for her gold wild rose charm that hung on a loose chain around her neck; something she typically did when thinking. "Well, I guess there's nothing really to do until we regroup with the others and see what they've found and wait to hear from your vampire friends." She stood, releasing her necklace before crossing the room, and stopping when she was close to the door, but turned so that she was facing her friend. "We should go home, rest up. I know you're at your wit's end. Sleep will get rid of that headache." She had noticed Jace's discomfort, but chose not to mention it until then. "We'll also need to train. Whatever we're going up against I know the team's not ready for it - yet anyway."
Alex stood quiet as the two girls figured out what apartment the source lived in. He motioned with his arm towards the door, knowing the girls would expect him to lead, but since he was being a sour-ass he'd let Violet tackle this one. "After you o' mighty one." He flashed her a sarcastic smirk.
((Sorry they're both really bad. I'm so tired and my brain's fried. Thought I would respond though, I won't be on for a couple of days (or maybe a week). My busy life will end soon (hopefully)! I'll try to get on if I can!))

Violet walked past Alex with a sniff. "Many thanks," she said. No one stopped the group as they entered the apartment building, the staff looking bored and ready to leave. The three of them climbed onto an elevator and rode it to the second floor, heading down the hall until they saw the door marked with a 224. Violet tried to ignore the awkwardness, wondering how Sarah even liked Alex at all. Her patience for him, usually pretty high, was crumbling. Violet banged on the door loudly, not caring what anyone thought. "Hey, is anyone there? Hello?" she called, trying to peer through the peephole. A voice, decidedly old, female, and very tired answered back. "Oh, uh, only a moment!" the woman replied. The door opened tentatively and the old woman glanced out with a worried look. "You're one of the Lamia Confectores' sources, correct?" Violet asked, hands on hips. The woman seemed to shrink even more into her already tiny frame. "Oh, um, yes, that is correct." "May we speak to you privately?" "Ah, yes of course, come in. Please." The door opened a little wider, and Violet brushed past the woman and strode into the small apartment. She sat down on the single ratty couch and crossed her arms, looking at Sarah and Alex to follow.

Alex gave Violet a smug smile as she walked past. If Alex was in a bad mood, then everyone had to be. He made certain not to glance Sarah's way as he followed the feisty slayer inside. Alex wasn't surprised that no one confronted them. Retired slayers tend to keep a low profile and the place did look a bit beat up despite its employment of a staff. Alex hesitated at the elevator, dreading the idea of being locked in another small space with Sarah. He slowly entered the the shady box, knowing he had already dug a deep enough hole with Violet. Alex kept his eyes firm on the reflective doors, trying hard not to notice the awkwardness that had fallen between the three. He was thankful when the doors opened and was the first one out, but had to wait for Violet to lead the way. He allowed Violet to converse with the old women, and watched with annoyance as she walked first over to the couch and took a seat. "I'm sorry, may we sit?" He asked the women emphasizing the word "may" for Violet. Alex was a pain in the ass, but he was generally polite - at least to adults.
((Mind if I take over Kitteh?))

[Course!]
Violet raised an eyebrow at Alex's sudden politeness, but said nothing. To be honest, she wasn't sure how to go about this, and Alex seemed like he wanted to take over. "Alex, why don't you take this one," she said, glancing around the room. This apartment was so run down and the woman was so skittish, Violet couldn't understand how this lady could be a retired slayer.
