Alex saw movement in the corner of his right eye and it took him a split second to register that a person was flying forward. His arm shot out, grabbing the person's arm hoping to stop their momentum. It was only after they had completely stopped that he realized it was Sarah. "You alright?" He asked feeling more than his fair share of guilt for almost killing the girl whom he distracted him. Ironic huh? Alex watched - through the rear view mirror of course - as Sarah crept back to her seat. He caught her smile, feeling a bit relieved although he still felt guilty as hell. "God Alex, can you try not to kill us?" Nicoleta scowled. "Oh ridiculous would that be; a bunch of Lamia Confectores take on a building of vampires and come out unharmed, but on the way home die in a car accident." She muttered folding her arms over her chest. Alex opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Jace's scream. The whole car seemed to go quiet. Nicoleta spun around in her seat, staring at the boy who just woke up. "You okay Jace?" She asked cautiously. The light had turned green, but Alex didn't move the car. Instead, he stared at the boy in the back waiting for his answer and ignoring the angry honks he received from cars behind them.

Daniel rubbed his shoulder. "Uh, I don't really have a place right now," he said, looking at the ground, "so I guess I'll stay with you guys." Safety in numbers right? It pained him to do this - vampires were disgusting creatures in his mind - but these two seemed... better than the rest, somehow. More civilized. "I'm Daniel." He got into the car as he introduced himself, regretting the night's events. How could he have gotten himself into something like this? Couldn't he just stay away and wallow in his self-loathing without being disturbed?
When Sarah mentioned a "normal" Jace, Violet let out an exasperated sigh. "Oh god, not NORMAL Jace," she mumbled. "Anything but that." She was rolling her neck around a few times, trying to get the kinks out of it from the fight, when she was suddenly thrown into the seat in front of her. She hit it with a grunt, not having enough time to put her arms up. "Jesus CHRIST Alex," she said, chuckling at Sarah, who had somehow flown through the gap between the seats and had almost hit the dashboard, and at Nicoleta, whose snarky comment was as true as it was hilarious. She leaned back in her seat as she rubbed her neck. That would hurt in the morning for sure. And then Jace had to [expletive] scare her again by letting out the most ear-piercing scream imaginable at the present moment. She whipped around to see a very delirious Jace, which, to be honest... kinda freaked her out. "Holy [expletive] dude, calm down," she said, holding out her hands in an attempt to prevent him from hurting himself. Glancing up at Nicoleta as the car went quiet, she made a face. What a great day it was turning out to be.

Sarah had been smiling a reassuring smile at Alex when Jace cried out, making her face go ashen white. "Jace..?" she said after a moment, slowly turning around to look at him. By this time, though, he had already turned his face against the seat, so she couldn't see him. She couldn't even imagine how he was feeling, having seen his mother as.. As one of them. "Jace..?" she asked again, reaching out to touch his shoulder with a gentle touch, much like that of a butterfly. Her face showed her cautious worry, and though she was afraid that he would lash out at her, she didn't want him to feel alone.
Jace said nothing, even as people talked to him. His face, buried in the seat, quickly composed itself into a stoic, emotionless mask. Sitting up quickly, he sucked in a hissing breath through his teeth, wincing a little. "Fine," he said, "I'm fine." With that, he shrugged Sarahs hand off of him, placing his hand over a particularly deep cut on his side. It wasn't life-threatening or anything, but it sure hurt. He didn't show it though, or hid most of it. "I think the people behind us want us to hurry, Alex," he said, looking into the boys eyes. His own eyes were tired, almost asking even, showing he was hoping for a change of subject.
--
Will nodded, sitting gently into the car, using his right hand to reach over and close the door to the car. His left arm hurt, probably from that bloody dagger, so he wasn't really using it much. "Well, Daniel. Nice to meet you," he said, glancing at him through the mirror. With that, he started the car up and began driving, falling into a silence even as Lexi spoke. "Well, Daniel," Lexsa said, turning in her seat to look at him, "We have a house, with one extra bedroom. There aren't really rules, other than we don't kill humans at home." That was about it, really. She didn't want them being caught. "Or at all, really, unless they, you know, deserve it." Will chimed in.

Nicoleta knew Jace was anything but fine, but she knew it was best to leave him alone for the time being. "Alex." She motioned with her head to keep driving. Alex sighed as he lifted his foot off the brake and pressed down on the accelerator. "Give him a little space guys." Nicoleta told Sarah and Violet knowing they would probably continue to press the boy. Nicoleta knew that would be the last thing he would want - or at least that would be the last thing she wanted.

Violet narrowed her eyes at Jace - not a threatening kind of gaze, but a thoughtful one - before sighing. "Alright, alright," she said, turning around. "I'll leave him to his own goddam psychotic problems." She was quiet after that. What a weird day, she thought to herself, dabbing at the cuts on her cheek. She stared at the blood that smeared on her fingers for a long moment before quickly rubbing it off on her pants. Everyone had somehow managed to escape with only a few cuts and bruises. That is, except Jace, but he had practically thrown himself at the vampires so he didn't really count in her mind.
"It's nice to meet you too," Daniel responded, unable to be impolite. When Lexsa explained the rules, he only looked at the ground. "I can assure you, there will be no killing done by me." He had killed many humans in his past to feed, and he hated himself for it. He only did it when he was starving and could find a particularly distasteful individual. At Will's comment, all he gave was a small, bitter chuckle.

Obviously relieved, Jace looked away, his gaze fixed on some invisible place between here and outside. He was too deep in thought to hear anything else, or to even notice the pain of his wounds. He didn't care, anyway; it wasn't anything fatal. He would heal, like he always would. He wouldn't let this matter. As he thought that, though, he couldn't help but wonder if he was still talking about his physical wounds..
Sarah sighed, but otherwise said nothing. She didn't look back at Jace, as she wasn't sure how he'd feel about it. She was sure, though, that he didn't need to be called crazy like Violet was doing, so she shot the other girl a look. Not a warning or anything, but a sort of look that asked the girl to stop, rather than command. With that, Sarah thought she had done about all she could. She found her gaze wander, and eventually realized that she was studying Alex in the mirror. She blushed, heat and color rushing to her cheeks and neck as she quickly looked away. It wasn't as though she could really hide her blush, though, as she was sitting in the middle, in view of everyone. She kept her gaze on her hands, though, and didn't say anything about it..
((Want to skip to them being home again, Holls?))

Lexi said nothing when Daniel spoke, only sharing a silent look with Will. She nodded eventually, and they pulled up to a house. It was innocent looking, and pretty if not plain. A nice place for vampires to live, if they wanted to escape the eyes of others. "Daniel," Lexi said, looking at him as she got out of the car. "No one around here can know what we are. No one can see you acting.. Like one of us, or anything like that. We don't want others to know this is where we stay. We stay out of politics," she said, looking at Will then back to Daniel, "We stay out of their business, and we stay out of theirs." Will, who had gotten out of the car slower than the other two, walked around to the door silently. He unlocked it and went in, holding the door for the two younger vampires before closing it and locking it once more. "What she's getting around to, Daniel, is asking a question. Are you on a side?" he asked, looking the other male over. "Where do your loyalties lie?" he asked, walking over to sit at a living-room chair.

Alex pulled into the garage, putting the gear shift into park before turning off the engine. The car was quiet for several moments until Nicoleta interrupted it. "Good work guys. Everyone head in, get themselves cleaned up." She watched Alex got out as well as the others, but remained where she was sitting. "Jace?" She asked, hoping to catch him before he got out. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

Violet tactfully avoided Sarah's gaze, pretending not to notice. She was quiet for the rest of the ride and climbed out of the car when they arrived in the garage. "Alright then," she said, heading to a cabinet in the kitchen that contained some first aid-supplies. Pulling her hair back, she then attempted to clean the cuts on her face with a cloth and some rubbing alcohol. [or whatever you're supposed to use]
Daniel climbed out of the car with the other two, looking over their house with an apathetic kind of interest, if that was even possible. "Yeah, of course," he said in response to Lexi. He walked in when the older vampire opened the door, but Will's question put him a little on edge. "Oh, uh," he started, "I try not to get involved with them. It's better for them not to know, in my opinion. I try not to kill unless I have to, and..." He didn't quite know how to put "I think vampires are hideous creatures that don't deserve to exist" nicely for his two decidedly vampiric hosts. "... I just think vampires should stay out of human affairs is all." Daniel awkwardly stood in the middle of the room them, unsure what to do in this new environment.

As the car stopped and silence fell over them, Sarah bit her lip, unsure as to what she should do. She looked up at the mirror, but Alex didn't return her gaze, so she quickly looked down once more. Finally, the quiet was shattered by Nicoleta's voice. "Thanks," the girl mumbled, sliding out of the car as Alex and Violet did. She was just about to turn and ask Jace if he needed help when Nicoleta spoke to him. "Oh," she said quietly, turning around before heading inside as well. Violet had already started cleaning her wounds in the kitchen, but Sarah didn't feel like it. Instead, she walked up the stairs to her room before sitting on the bed. She stared at the wall as she thought about how tonight went. All in all, they had done very well- they had taken out many Vampires, and even though they had all been hurt in some way, no one had died. That thought brought her back to her own shortcoming, which made her sigh.
Jace had been moving himself slowly, getting ready to get out of the car, when Nicoleta asked to speak with him. Great, he thought. "Yeah?" he said, looking at her with an intense gaze, as if daring her to say something. He knew she probably agreed with Violet, that she probably thought him mad, but he didn't care. He didn't care about anything, really. Nothing other than killing Claudius, and now his mother.

Lexsa listened as Daniel spoke, and when he finished lamely, she laughed aloud. "So, you're the self-loathing type," she said, her question more of a statement. She shrugged. "That's fine. We just needed to know that you weren't working for anyone," she said with a smile she walked to the kitchen where a large refrigerator stood, and, opening it quickly, grabbed a pack of blood. "Want something?" she said to Will and Daniel as she grabbed her own packet. She didn't need to speak in anything over a whisper, but she spoke at level volume anyway. "Sure," Will said, smiling towards the kitchen, even though she couldn't see him through a wall. "You?" he asked, looking over at Daniel. "You should probably drink something," he said, looking the boy over, "Rough night. Oh, we have alcohol too." William looked Daniel over for a bit longer before deciding to ask him a question. "How old are you, Daniel?" he asked.

Alex headed inside after Violet and Sarah. He watched Violet as she got out the first aid kit. Alex could use some fixing up, but he figured a shower would suit him just fine. He headed into the bathroom, locking the door behind him. After a quick - and a little painful - hot shower he wrapped a towel around his waist, concealing his private areas. Alex rubbed the steam off the bathroom mirror and sighed when he noticed some bruises and deep cuts. He was going to be sore in the morning. Alex gathered his things and headed down the hall towards his room. He paused at Sarah's door, tempted for some reason to knock on it. He wanted to make sure she was alright. He reached out with fist, hesitated and pulled back. He sighed deeply running a hand through his fair hair. He couldn't bring himself to do it.
The Lamia Confectore leader inside her screamed at her to tell Jace off. Yell at him for not listening and grill him until he reveals how he knew so much about that night. However, the kinder more compassionate leader inside her knew that she had to cut him some slack - the worse thing possible happened to him tonight. Someone he loved had become their prey. "I'm sorry." She simply said. She didn't know how to start the conversation and she hoped he'd recognize her trying to be sympathetic - something that doesn't happen often. "If you need a couple days off, you can take them. No questions asked." She sighed, turning more in her seat so that she could look at Jace better. "I just want you to know that... I'm here for you. If you need anything, just say it." It was important that Nicoleta took care of her group. She always felt responsible for them and if one was suffering, it was her job to help them. "If you want to talk about anything your words are safe here. Nothing will leave this car."

Sarah was sitting on her bed, looking at her hands, when the hair on the back of her neck stood up. She had the feeling someone was watching her, or at least close to her. Thinking it might be Nicoleta coming to talk to her about how she had preformed that night, she stood, walking silently to her door. Reaching her hand out, she pulled the door open, only to see it was a mostly naked Alex. The young girl couldn't help herself as her eyes roamed from his face down his neck to his chest. From there, she took in his broad, strong shoulders, moving down his abs to his stomach, following the lines until the towel hid the rest. By this time, she was blushing deeply, and quickly averted her gaze, looking at his face again. "Alex," she said, smiling at him. She didn't know why he was there, standing mostly naked outside of her door, but she was glad. Really glad, though she didn't know why. "Come in," she said, but didn't really wait for him to respond. Instead, she opened her door further and walked towards her bed, as if the thought of him refusing hadn't even crossed her mind. "You're hurt," she said, as if he didn't know that. She grabbed her own personal first aide kit and sat it on the bed, pulling a few things out. She looked up at him, a slight frown on her face. "Well, come on," she said, pointing to her bed. "We can talk while I fix you, then you can do me." Once she said it, her eyes widened a little as she realized how it had come out. "Um, I mean.. Then you can, uh, help me patch myself up," she clarified, blushing deeply once again. God, she was such a loser.. With that embarrassing ordeal, the girl sat on her bed, waiting.
--
Jace was silent for a long while, thinking. Just as he thought she was going to leave, he spoke. "I was there," he said, his voice quiet. He wouldn't look at her, or anything other than his hands, for some reason. "I was probably only four or something. We were making chocolate milk when the sounds started," he said, voice void of emotion, eyes seeing the past instead of what was in front of him. "My mother, she hid me in the panic room that was built into my bedroom. She said we were going to play a game- I had to be silent, and see how long I could stay in my clubhouse. I couldn't come out until she or Father came to get me." He paused, his eyes growing troubled. "I was in the dark for a long time. I couldn't hear anything, and.. I thought.. I don't know, that she'd forgotten me. So I climbed out and went looking for her. She wasn't in any of the rooms I checked, but the light was off in the kitchen." At this point, his hands clenched into fists and his body tensed up. "I had to find my chair, my step-stool, so I could turn the light on. The floor was wet, but.. I thought it was just milk from before. When I turned on the light, though, it was red. Milk isn't red." Swallowing hard, he continued. "I was afraid. Really afraid, even though I knew I couldn't be. Father would have been angry that I was. I.. I needed to find my mother, so I walked to the bar. When I looked around it, she was lying in a pool of her own blood. Her skin was like paper, the color of death. She told me to run, but I couldn't. I couldn't move, even when he looked up from her throat. He smiled at me, all blood and fangs. 'Do as mommy says, Jonathan,' he told me. I didn't know what to do. I screamed. I screamed and screamed, until he picked my mom up and took her away. I didn't stop him, I didn't even try. I just sat down on the floor next to her blood.." Jace trailed off then, closing his eyes tightly. "I should have known he had changed her. I should have known. But, Father said.." Jace shook his head, clearing his mind. "Never mind," Jace said, his eyes opening to reveal the other, emotionless Jace once more. "I don't know why I even said that," he said before shoving the car door open, tossing his legs out. He sucked in a hissing breath through his teeth as pain shot up him, but he enjoyed the feeling. He deserved it.

Alex was about to move when Sarah opened the door. He froze where he stood, immediately growing uncomfortable due to his lack of clothes. Alex opened his mouth to explain himself, but came up with no excuses. It's pretty hard to come up with something to explain why you're standing half nude in front of their door. When she asked him to come in Alex sighed. Considering his attire, he didn't feel comfortable going into the girl's room, but he couldn't say no. At least not to her. Alex headed over to Sarah's bed and sat down beside the first aid kit. He grinned when she said 'do me', knowing that that wasn't what she meant, but still found it humorous. "I'm fine, honestly. However, if you do need me to do you." He motioned to the kit between them. "I don't mind."
Nicoleta waited what seemed like forever and was about to give up on trying to help Jace when he spoke. She listened to his story, her eyes clouding with simpathy. Jace had been through a lot, Nicoleta now knew. He had been tramatized at a young age which must be the reason he was so messed up now. "Jace wait." Nicoleta flung her door open and quickly got out. She could tell he was in pain and she moved beside him, positioning herself so that he could lean on her. "Don't blame yourself for what happened. It was out of your control." Memories of the night her father died start to resurface, but she pushed them away. "Trust me when I say this; self-loathing will get you no where. The only thing you can do is aveange. And me and the others are here to help."

Sarah could tell that Alex was rather uncomfortable as he came to sit on the bed next to her and her supply kit, but she didn't say anything about it. She would be uncomfortable too, if she was dressed like he was and in his room. Er, undressed, she thought, looking him over again. "Don't laugh at me," she said, but was laughing as well. What she had said had been funny, though it was an accident. When he said that he was fine, she gave him a 'don't even try getting out of this' look. "You're not fine, Alex. I can see your wounds," she reminded him pointedly. "You are naked, after all." With that, the young Slayer got out the items she would need, putting some rubbing alcohol on a pad before she started cleaning his wound. She was sure it hurt- alcohol burns- which made her feel bad. "Sorry," she said softly, her right hand gently helping him while her left rested lightly on his shoulder and chest. "Is that okay?" she asked, looking up into his eyes.
«☼»
Jace had seen the sympathy in Nicoleta's eyes, but it didn't make him feel good. It made him feel weak, as though he had been crying on her shoulder like the pathetic four year old of his tale. He had been trying to get out of the car when she jumped out too, quickly coming to his aide. When had it come to this? he wondered, When did I get so weak? He said nothing, though, just listening to her as she spoke. He could take it one of two ways- relax into her and let her help him, he shove her away. After much thought, Jace allowed himself to put a little of his weight against her. He was still in pain, after all. Jace glanced over at Nicoleta, really looking at her, studying her eyes for a moment before he spoke. "Thanks," he said finally, offering up a small smile of gratitude.

Alex sighed when she gave him the look. "Honestly, I'm fine. It's nothing I can't handle. They're barely even scratches. I should be the one helping you." Alex had this need to help her. He didn't know why. When she mentioned his nearly bare attire Alex looked away. "Caught me coming out of the shower." He moaned when she pulled out the rubbing alcohol. "Is this really necessary?" Although he knew there was no way to convince her he was alright. He winced as the pad touched his skin, stinging. However, he didn't even noticed the pain when he felt her soft warm hand touch his shoulder. He slowly glanced up her, his deep blue eyes staring into hers. He nodded his head at her question, his eyes never leaving hers. "Yeah," A few long moments, Alex broke the connection. "How 'bout tonight, huh?" He said feeling awkward from their stare.
Nicoleta nodded at his gradtitude. She lead him over to the door and inside the kitchen. Nicoleta was glad to see Violet had the first aid kit out. "Oh good." She helped him over to the counter. "Sit." She commanded before turning to Violet. "Can you help him? I need to take care of a few things." She gave the girl a warning look, silently telling her not to fight with the boy. Without waiting for an answer, Nicoleta turned and headed into the den.

Sarah was glad that he had come over to let her help him, but she knew that it would. The Look always worked. "'Barely even scratches' by butt," she muttered, rolling her eyes as she continued to clean them, trying to be gentle even as he winced. She looked up at him, his eyes turning down to look deeply into hers. She stopped moving, unable to look away for a while, until he averted his gaze and spoke. "Oh, um, yeah," she said awkwardly, spreading some antibiotics onto some gauze patches before taping them over the worst of his wounds. "There, all finished," she said softly, smiling at him. She was still blushing a little from their gazing episode, which made her look down at the kit between them. "Alex?" she asked, her voice quiet, "Thank you. I mean, I know I already said it, but.. You know.. You saved my life," she said, blushing at the ground. "I just want you to know that I really appreciate it."

Alex sighed when Sarah thanked him. It really was nothing. He didn't even know he had saved her until she pointed it out. It felt good though; protecting Sarah. Because she was a fellow L.C., that was the only reason... right? "Sarah, there's no need to thank me." He hazel eyes locked on her's. "You needed help, I helped you. I got your back and you've got mine." He looked Sarah's handiwork. She had done a good job, which was expected. All of them were so use to patching wounds up. It was partically second nature. "Alright, time for me to do you." He smirked, his eyes dancing with mischief.

Sarah's large honey-brown eyes looked into Alex's hazel ones, unable to pull away, even as he spoke to her. She told herself it was just because he commanded respect, that it was normal, but she knew better. She was starting to have.. Feelings for him. She was smiling softly at him, and when he looked down to survey the job she had done, she looked at her hands, blushing. "Oh, joy," she said, sighing softly as he said it was her turn. Other than a few cuts and bruises on her face and arms, the only other two that were even a little bad were on her shoulder and her stomach. She had been being careful not to move her arm a certain way, and had done all she could to keep from straining her tummy, but she supposed it was a good idea for him to fix her arm up. "This is the only one," she lied, not saying anything about the deeper cut under her shirt. It stretched from her ribs, where it was deepest, across to just below her bellybutton. It wasn't bad, just that a female vampire had clawed her pretty good. She took off her shirt since he wouldn't be able to get at it through her long-sleeve shirt, though she was still wearing a dark tank-top under it. She bit her lip, looking at it though the corner of her eye. It didn't hurt too badly, but she had a particular hatred of rubbing alcohol..

Alex's eyes widened when Sarah took off her long-sleved revealing a very cut up arm and shoulder. "Ouch." He commented softly before slowly applying the rubbing alcohol. "Sorry if it hurts." He apologized in advanced before cleaning up her wounds. When he was done, Alex took some gauze and carefully wrapped up her arm. "That should help." He sat back, looking Sarah up and down, scanning for more injuries. "Anywhere else?" He asked. That's when he noticed a patch of Sarah's tank top was slightly darker than the rest. "Lift up your shirt." He commanded awkardly.

Sarah winced a little once her shirt was off, nodding as Alex commented. "Yeah, it's a little sore," she admitted. She didn't complain more than that, though- some of his scratches had been as bad, or a little worse. As the alcohol began burning her skin, Sarah bit down on her lip, not allowing herself to flinch away from the searing sting of the liquid fire. "It's okay," she managed as he apologized, offering a small smile. When he finished and wrapped her arm up, she felt a little embarrassed, but it was nothing compared to how he probably felt, sitting almost naked on her bed. "Oh, uh, no. Nothing else," she lied, hoping he didn't see her stomach. She was embarrassed about it, and felt that it was a little poochy. She liked Alex, and didn't want to show him the fattest part of her body. It wasn't that she thought she was fat, or even ugly. She knew she was pretty. That didn't mean she wanted to flaunt her stomach, though, no matter how cute it might be. She thought she was home clear when he told her to lift her tank top up. "Darn it," she muttered, shaking her head with a sigh before she lifted it up. She had to lift it high enough so that the bottom of her bra could be seen, which made her cheeks darken, but she didn't mention it. Instead, she looked at what little she could see of her cut. "It looks worse than it is," she managed to say, though she wasn't sure. She couldn't really feel it anymore. That was good.. Right?

[You crazy kids and your free time.]
Violet glanced up at Nicoleta and Jace as they walked in, having already cleaned and wrapped her arm and knee; a large band-aid had just been placed on her cheek. Her expression quickly turned disgruntled at Nicoleta's request. "But-" No use, the girl had already left. There would be no respite from Jace that day, it seemed. Letting out a short, frustrated grunt, she turned to her patient. "Well, it looks like I have no choice," she said. "So, uh... I guess you'll need stitches." Experience had made her better than the average person, but out of the five of them, she was arguably the worst at the patching up stuff. But she saw how he'd bled a lot, and the gash seemed fairly deep, so stitches seemed the most obvious choice. As she gathered the supplies, she mumbled, "I guess you'll have to take off your shirt for this."
Daniel shrunk a little at Lexsa's words because, well... that was exactly what he was. It was like a slap to the face to hear someone put it so sharply. But at her question, and Will's advice, he forced himself to respond - his deeply hidden sense of pride had been hurt somehow. "Uh, sure," he said. Better blood packets than a human being, he supposed. Not often he got to feed like this, since he was never really affiliated with the larger groups or had access to that kind of thing.
