They are Among usEver since the human beings walked the earth, they’d been among us. For hundreds of years, they were even thought to be one of us. There was no question that they looked and spoke like us, however, no one knew of their double life. Their real life. Only when blood was present were their true identities exposed. Naturally, we hunted them. Seek to get rid of them. However, organized groups weren’t formed until the early 18th century; that’s when rumors and superstitions began to circulate around Europe. People’s livelihoods became hunting them. Professionally trained groups of hunters began to pop up all around the world. All in different countries, but all had one goal. To slay vampires... Lamia Confectores…… is “vampire slayers,” in their universal language, Latin. As stated above, there are thousands of groups of them, dedicated to killing vampires. It all started in a small village in Transylvania, when the first of the Lamia Confectores came together and took an oath to protect mankind against the evils of vampires. Some of the founders broke off from the group, forming their own groups. Now a days, there are hundreds of thousands of groups all affiliated with the Lamia Confectores. However, even with the large number of Lamia Confectores, the vampire population continues to grow, especially in major cities. New York City is the largest vampire populated area in the United States, and with the existences of vampires a fantasy to civilians, the Lamia Confectores struggle to keep their numbers down and their existences a secret. Things to know…- The Lamia confectores consist of a leader and members. Many of them come from a long line of slayers; however, with the number of vampires increasing, many are now recruited usually by former lamia confectores.
- The slayers of New York City live just on the outskirts of the city in a huge beautiful old Romanian-styled house that was built a few years prior the Revolutionary War. The house is located on a couple acres of untouched land; however, it’s near a main road, allowing easy access to the city.
- Vampires can be considered beautiful creatures and use their looks to seduce victims. It’s difficult to tell a vampire apart from a human, but it’s not impossible. For one, vampires are extremely pale. It’s not so surprising considering their undead. They also have red (can vary in shades) eyes and they are quicker and stronger than an average human. Finally, vampires are mainly nocturnal creatures and always feed at night.
- There are two main ways to kill a vampire; either by chopping off its head or thrusting a wooden stake through the heart. The consumption of garlic also kills them, but it’s must harder to get a vampire to eat a plant than to just simply cut off its head. All remains of a vampire should be burn to ash, to get rid of any evidence of their existence.
Rules All site rules are expected to be followed.
Keep foul language to a minimum. Swearing is fine, just don’t overdo it.
You can choose to be a Lamia Confectores or a vampire. I’d rather not have humans on here because the existences of vampires are really only supposed to be known to the lamia confectores.
Although it is pretty much against Lamia Confectores rules, slayers do fall in love with vampires (they’re irresistible after all). However, I don’t want too many vampire-slayer romances. It would kind of defeat the point of RP if every slayer was paired with a vampire.
On the subject of romance, please keep PG-13. I’m sure no one wants to read vivid intimate details. Just ‘fade to black’ them. Also, no extremely gory fighting/death scenes. Again, I don’t think anyone wants to read vivid details of a person’s death. Um… That’s it for the rules. If you kitties are naughty or if I forgot something then I’ll post some more. :3 Le SkellyName: Gender: Age: (If a Lamia Confectores, keep it around teen ages. Nicoleta sat in the kitchen, sipping on a cup of coffee. It was quiet morning, except for the faint chirps from the birds outside. Based on their tune, Nicoleta guessed that they were sparrows. She sighed taking another sip, disperately needing the caffine. It had been a rough hunt last night, and Nicoleta was exhausted. The back door creaked opened and the blonde turned to see her cousin walking in. "Lovely morning isn't it?" She greeted him with a snide smile. Alex shot her a glare before opening the 'fridge. Aggravating Alex was too easy. It was a plus to becoming leader... maybe the only one. Nicoleta watched as Alex grabbed a banana before storming out of the kitchen and back out the door. She had no idea where he went during the day, so long as he was back at sunset, she didn't care. Nicoleta finished her coffee before placing her cup in the sink. She headed into the den and over to the main computer, clicking the mouse. The computer flashed to life and Nicoleta took a seat in the comfy office chair. She waited for the email to load, before reading through some letters about vampire sightings.

"Really, Will, have some class," Lexi said with a laugh. She was watching as the Vampire before her painted his nails black, something he always did, for some reason or another. She had to admit, though, that it suited him. He was beautiful, really, though not her type. "I have plenty of that, Lexi," he said, smiling somewhat distractedly. "Plenty of it." The female Vampire only shook her head, though her smile remained. "So," She began, voice light. "Who was that dashing young man?" she asked, one brow raised. "I saw him leave this morning, with the most peculiar markings on him," she said, eyes twinkling. "They looked kind of like.." She didn't get to answer, as William had thrown something at her head, which she dodged with ease. "Oh, alright.." she murmured, pouting slightly. "Don't tell me all the details." "I won't then," he replied with a sly smile. "Ahhh," he said after a moment, looking at his hands. "Perfect." He blew on them a second or two until they were dry, then turned to his friend. "Just a human, Lexsa. I had him over for dinner, and, well, he found that he didn't want to go home." He said it simply, shrugging as though it were nothing. To him, though, it wasn't. He hadn't drained the boy, though he had given him a night he would never forget. He figured he should be proud of himself for that.
Jace was up before the others, headed outside to do whatever it was he did, Sarah knew. She never asked him about it, and neither did anyone else, that she knew of. That was Jace- the dark, fallen angel of a boy that no one wanted to get to know. Something about him just felt.. Off. I mean, what kind of boy willingly bites a Vampire? she asked herself, making a face. Too much blood, and you turn! He can't enjoy the cleansing process, either, unless he likes hurting. She sighed, coming into the kitchen in time to see Alex leave. "Morning," she said to Nicoleta, offering a small smile. She too was tired, but shoved her fatigue away as she grabbed a banana. Jace walked in about that time, sitting silently at the table. His dark gaze flicked to the woman at the computer, Nicoleta, before resting on Saraphenia. He said nothing, inwardly enjoying the way she was squirming slightly under his penetrating gaze. He wanted them to fear, or at least dislike him.

After reading through all of the new messages - all eighty-four of them - Nicoleta clicked out of her email and turned the computer off. She rubbed her temples with a sigh; they were going to have another busy night ahead of them. She got up from the desk and headed back into the kitchen, noticing Jace and Sarah. "Better rest up." She told them as she headed over to the coffee pot, preparing to make another cup. "There's been multiple sightings of vamps." The Lamia Confectores had lots of inside sources throughout the city. Mainly retired Lamia Confectores or relatives to ones, but in any case, they were beyond helpful. "Especially the East Side." She put in a new pot before grabbing her mug from the sink and slipping it under the coffee maker. She pressed the button and waited. "Everyone alright?" She asked without turning to face them. She had forgotten to ask that question last night, but assumed everyone had made it home in one piece.

Violet walked in to the kitchen then, looking pretty unkept. Her hair was half brushed and she was wearing a wrinkled t-shirt and jeans, something that was probably thrown on without a second thought from the piles of clothes on her bedroom floor. She offered a sluggish grunt as greeting to whoever was in the room and slumped into a chair. She ignored the penetrating gaze of Jace - what an emo, he needed to get over himself - and grabbed an apple from the bowl on the table. Biting into it slowly and forcing herself to chew, she reminded herself that mornings were the worst part of the day and that she was definitely not a morning person.

Sarah was relieved when Nicoleta came back into the kitchen- Jace's attention was pulled somewhere other than her. "Great," Sarah said with a weary sigh, but didn't elaborate. She didn't want to have another busy night. It meant that innocent humans were being slaughtered by Vampires. A dull day meant that they hadn't been lately. When their leader spoke again, she nodded. "Yes, I'm alright; just a few scrapes and bruises." She looked over at Jace then, realizing that he wasn't going to speak up. "Jace on the other hand.." she said, trailing off. All she got from him in return was a thunderstorm-gaze.
Jace said nothing as Nicoleta and Sarah spoke; he had nothing to add. When Sara brought him up, though, his dark eyes found hers, glaring something awful until she looked away. Just about that time, Violet came in, looking.. Pathetic. Smiling a smile that Lucifer might have just before he Fell, he spoke to her. "Good morning Violet," he said, still smiling, his voice silky smooth. "How are you? Not too tired, I hope? You look.. Ravishing," he said, winking at her. He knew she didn't like anyone- especially him- in the mornings. Shooting a hand out, he touched a piece of hair that had fallen into her eyes, pushing it behind her ears, and pulled his hand away before she could say anything. "Yes, just ravishing." he repeated before chuckling once and looking away, an odd look on his face, as though he thought something was funny, but was angry underneath.

Nicoleta was glad to hear no one was gravely injured. When Sarah brought up Jace, her gaze shifted over to the slayer boy. She riased an eyebrow as he greeted Violet and then procceeded to provoke her. With a sigh she rubbed her temple with her hand. "Stop it Jace. It's too early for your crap." The kid was a strange one and had the wierdest humor. She had no patience for it today, and she was sure Violet didn't either. The girl was not a morning person and Jace was just asking for it. Once her cup was filled to the top, Nicoleta picked it up and headed out of the kitchen. "Try not to kill each other please." She called over her shoulder, knowing Violet would probably kick Jace's ass. Nicoleta was too tired to play referee and only prayed things wouldn't get too out of hand. She walked into the living room and sat down on the couch.

Violet curled her lip back in disgust as Jace spoke to her. "Asshole," she muttered, too tired to do anything else. But when he pushed her hair away, that was crossing the line. Her first reaction was to swat at his hand, but he was faster than she was and turned away before she could do anything about it. And so she chucked her half-eaten apple across the table at his face. Slamming one hand on the table and sticking a finger a millimeter away from his nose, she warned angrily, "Touch me again, I [expletive] dare you." As Nicoleta left, she almost growled, but didn't back down.

Jace said nothing as Nicoleta told him to stop messing with Violet, as he had already pulled away by the time the leader said something. He smiled distantly at some point between the wall and the edge of the universe, his almost-black eyes glazing over slightly. When Nicoleta finally left, sporting a cup of steamy coffee, he flicked his gaze back to Violet, just in time to see her throw the apple at him. Though he didn’t have time to catch it, he put one arm up to keep it from hitting his face. It bounced off, landing in his lap with a thump. “Thanks,” he said, offering her an angelic smile as he took a bite. When she slammed her hand down, his eyes hardened, and his smile turned.. Well, it was a smile, but was fierce. “Is that an invitation? I mean, had I known you were interested..” he said, trailing off.
Sarah could see where this was leading- they would fight, and while Jace wouldn’t hit the other girl, Violet wouldn’t hold back. There would end up being pain on both sides, and damage done to their surroundings. “Come on, you two..” she said, frowning. “Cut it out.” She looked between the two slayers, then sighed. “Jace, you know Vie’s not a morning person. And, Violet, you know he’s just.. Well, he’s just an- a jerk.” She ended a little lamely. One thing she prided herself on was that she didn’t curse. Not ever.

Nicoleta took a deep breath in and held it as she closed her eyes. She tried to tune the slayers in the kitchen out, wanting a second to herself. She was well aware that in moments, Violet and Jace would start fighting and she would have to go play referee. She sighed, letting the air escape from her lungs. Without opening her eyes, the female slayer yeld. "So help me, if I have to come in their I'm going to personally kick both your asses." It was too early for their fighting. Nicoleta took a sip of her coffee, simpathizing with mothers that had to deal with bickering children.

With a soft sigh, Sarah leaned heavily against the back of her chair. Nicoleta could take it from there, right? Besides, she thought as she glanced around, they don't look like they'll kill each other anymore. "I'm going outside." She said to no one in particular. "Don't kill each other, 'kay?" With that, the girl stood, walking out of the side door. Once she was outside, she blinked a few times, running a hand through her long, curly brown hair. She walked a little ways down an often-trodden path, one that lead to a little grove of trees. She sat on a stone bench, sighing as she closed her large eyes, leaning against a tree. This was going to be a long day. Suddenly, a wave of longing washed over her. She missed her family- her mother, father, little brother Max, and their cat. They had been assigned a task all the way out in Asia somewhere, and wouldn't be back for a while. Sarah bit her lip; she missed her mothers soothing voice, her fathers strong arms, and her little annoying brother Max, with his glasses and books, always asking questions and wanting to hang around her.

On silent feet, Alex emerged from the woods surrounding the house. He watched the Romanian styled home with annoyed eyes. Others would be up by now and there was no way in hell he was going to socialize. He tried to spend as little time with the other slayers as possible. Instead, he headed towards a small dirt path that lead away from the home. Alex often hung out around the grove trees when he wanted some alone time. He stopped in his tracks, noticing someone had already taken his spot. "Sarah." He greeted her flately. Alex studied her feathers, taking note of saddness and longing in her eyes. "Something troubling you?" Alex normally didn't care for small chat, but Sarah was nice and probably the most sane out of all the slayers. He wouldn't mind sharing the grove spot with her.

Sarah was slightly surprised when Alex spoke, as her eyes had been closed and she hadn't heard him. "Oh, Alex," she said, smiling as she sat up a little straighter. She scootched over, just in case he wanted to sit, and smiled. At his question, though, her smile faltered slightly, a blush creeping up her cheeks. "I just miss my family, I guess." Pausing a moment, she laughed a little. "Who would have thought I could miss Max?" she said, still smiling at the boy. "What about you? Why are you out here all alone?" she knew that someone other than herself came out here regularly, but until today, she hadn't ran into them. She wasn't that surprised that it was Alex, but out of all of the other Slayers, he was the only one she was willing to share 'her spot' with. She didn't know why, though- maybe because he seemed different.

Alex watched as Sarah made room for him, but he didn't move. "I'm sorry." He told her when she confessed that she missed her family. Alex didn't feel the same way about his. Ever since he was denied the position of leader, he regretted his parents, especially his non-slayer mother. When she asked why he was outside, the blonde boy shrugged. "I'm always out here. Being cooped up in a house with people isn't exactly my idea of fun." He sighed before slowly walking forward and taking a seat beside the Sarah. "Especially, in the morning." He added with a slight chuckle. It was no secret that Violet and some others weren't morning people.

Violet's face grew bright red with embarrassment and fury. Sarah did no good in calming her down. She was about to punch him right in the face, but for some reason stopped at Nicoleta's words. Sure Violet was the rebellious type, but Nicoleta was the indisputable leader and Violet respected her enough to listen. There was also the fact that it was way too early to get into a fight. "Let me punch him in his [expletive] face just once. Just once and then I'll go," she shouted back, narrowing her eyes. She barely sensed Sarah leaving, undoubtedly fed up with their early morning crap.

Nicoleta sighed before getting to her feet and heading into the kitchen. She made sure to stand between Violet and Jace, hoping to cut off some of the tension. "No, no punching." She told Violet. "No fighting." She turned to Jace, her face reflecting her mood, annoyed. "Look, can you stop being five years old for two minutes? Do you really have to piss everyone off all the time? It was a tough night last night and it's going to be tough tonight so can you quit it?" Her voice had riased a few octaves. She meant business.

As Alex sat beside her, Sarah couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, Jace and Violet can get pretty.. You know," She ended, chuckling as well. She sighed, though it was more of a happy sound this time. "I come out here a lot, too." she admitted, looking around her. "It's nice. Peaceful, even." She turned to look at him then, her large eyes searching his a little. "Nice, after a hard night." She let that sit there for a moment before beginning again. "It's going to be hard again tonight," she said quietly.
Rather than saying something productive, or even apologizing, Jace shaped his face into a look of surprise and a little hurt. "I didn't know I was pissing anyone off," he said, putting his hands up. "I thought I was making conversation. I noticed how lovely Violet was looking, and wanted to tell her. I thought you girls liked that sort of thing. But I can see I was wrong. Don't worry- I'll stop trying," he said, smiling then over their leaders shoulder at Violet. "Sorry for saying you looked pretty; I'll take it back if you want." With that, the boy grabbed the half-eaten apple off of the table and started walking up the stairs to his room in the attic, taking a bite as he went.

Nicoleta rubbed her forehead with her forefinger and thumb as Jace headed off to his room. The slayer gave her headaches. "Just let it go." She told Violet, having a feeling she'd have more to say to Jace.
Alex sighed running a head through his blond locks when she mentioned Jace and Violet. They always seemed to be at each other's throats. "It is." Alex agreed. That little grove of quietness was perfect after a tough night's hunt. When Sarah said that tonight was going to be hard, Alex couldn't help but smile to himself. After all the crap he's been through (not becoming leader, having to listen to his cousin, disowning his family, ect.) slaying vampires was something he could always looked forward to.
(((I was thinking I should time skip to night so that they can hunt. All in favor?)))

Violet felt a little twinge of satisfaction as Nicoleta reprimanded Jace and not her, even though it made her feel like she was about six years old. But she was fed up with his crap every day of her life. Just because she wasn't a wimp like Sarah, all aloof like Alex, or in charge like Nicoleta meant she was the butt of his weird need to piss people off. "Oh my god," she said, shouting a stream of curses at him as he left. When he was gone, all she could do was let out something between a very frustrated groan and a scream while almost ripping her hair out. She wanted nothing more to just run after him and beat the [living daylights] out of him. "But how can I let it go when he does this every single minute of his life??" she hissed. "What the [expletive] even is his problem anyways? And what have I ever done to deserve this??" She let out the biggest sigh of her life for the umpteenth time in her life and tried to calm herself. "I'm gonna go punch a tree or something," she mumbled. "I'll be back by the time we leave." And with that, she left.
[In favor! Also, sorry for the absence. Family time for the holidays, you know. I'll try and respond as fast as I can.]
