Rylan shrugged at his words, "They might be armed pretty well. And we'll be saving some innocent animals." She paused, fidgeting with her fork, "They're probably just easing us back in to the partnership."

Clark raised his eyebrows. "When did you become mother nature?"

Rylan looked up at her partner, "You can't look me in the eye and tell me that you don't love animals, Clark."

Clark shrugged at her comment. "I mean, I'm not all 'save the polar bears from extinction' or any of that preservation crap. It's science and the way of life. Species go extinct while others spread and thrive. Humans are just more resourceful than other animals. I mean, squirrels have figured it out. They can live alongside progress without a problem, as long as they don't run across a busy road."

Rylan gaped at her partner, before laughing, "My god, Clark, you're an asshole." She shook her head, still chuckling, "I understand that species go extinct, but when that process is sped up by poachers who just want to skin them for next season's fashion, I tend to have an issue with it." A moment later, the waitress came over with their meals and set them down in front of them.
[Nice disclaimer, Pi. xD]

Clark chuckled. "I get that a lot." He began to dig into his food, famished after their long journey and the amount of time they'd gone without food.

Rylan grinned at his comment before turning her focus to her food. When they finished and the check was paid, she headed with her partner back out into the snow. "Where do you think we should start, Mr. Animal Hater," she asked, looping her arm through his again.

Clark lanced down at Rylan with a raised eyebrow. "You're the one affiliated with the WWF," he said with snark before looking around. "Where do you see clothing shops?"

Rylan rolled her eyes at his comment, nudging his side. She glanced around at his comment, gesturing toward a small shop a little ways down the road. "Let's start there." She led him over, releasing his arm once she headed inside and quietly began inspecting the clothing.
[So what's going on with Sophia and Heath?]

[Well I dunno. I'm kinda low on muse with this right now if you couldn't tell.]
Clark followed after Rylan and strolled behind her as she browsed, keeping a nonchalant eye out while he looked for anything that seemed even slightly suspicious. All clear so far. He was going to have to depend on his partner for finding the exotic illegal furs.

[If you don't love me anymore, Pi, just tell me. :,( xD]
A young, brunette woman came over to the pair, giving them a sweet smile. "Is there anything I can help you with today?" Rylan glanced at Clark before turning her eyes to the woman. "Do you have anything a little warmer? These are a little thin," she said as she gestured toward a shirt. The woman paused before nodding, "We should have something a little thicker in the back." She turned and headed toward the back of the store, waving for them to follow. Rylan trailed behind, glancing around. The woman stopped at a rack in the back, pulling out a fur-lined jacket and holding it up. "We're you looking for something more like this?" Rylan reached out and took the clothing, inspecting the lining. It was real. "This is really nice. I was thinking something down-lined, though." When she glanced back up, the clerk was appraising Clark. Rylan rolled her eyes, "Thanks for your help, we're just going to keep looking." She picked out a few simple things to buy before heading to the register to check out. After the woman rang them up and everything was paid for, she turned to leave. The clerk reached across the counter to grab Clark's hand, putting a small slip of paper in his hand that had her phone number on it. "We don't get many of you around here," she said sheepishly before releasing him. Rylan was waiting for her partner outside.
[xD Clark always having people hitting on him.]

['Course I love you! I just don't have a lot of muse for spies at the moment.]
Clark glanced up as they were approached by a sales clerk and he waited for Rylan to do the talking. She was the one actually buying clothes anyway. He followed behind them as they did their woman thing, not paying too much attention. It wasn't exactly the most interesting thing in the world. He was clueless to anything going on with the women, like most men are, and he wasn't even aware of the clerk's interest in him until someone grabbed his hand at the end of their venture through fashion land and when he looked over, it was the lady from before. "Oh, uh, thanks," he replied awkwardly, tightening his fist and giving her a dashing smile before following his partner out, opening his hand and letting the paper fall into a snow bank outside the store. "So did you see anything?" he asked, glancing down at her.
[What can I say, he's hot ;D But wouldn't it be assumed that Rylan and he were together? He's at a clothing store with her, for god's sake XD That woman has zero respect.]

[Lol, okay. Omg, "their woman thing". XDD I can't take this post seriously.]
Rylan noticed something fall from her partner's hand when he headed out, stepping over to pick it up curiously. "You dropped someth-- oh." She straightened up and offered it to him, moving on to the next topic quickly. "It was real fur. We just need to figure out who their supplier is. We can stake it out after we drop these bags off at home." After picking up her bags, she shrugged and headed back toward their house, not waiting to walk arm-in-arm with him.
[Generally, yes, but they're on the edge of the Arctic Circle in a tiny town, Pi. She's desperate. xDD And she has no self-respect.]

[That was revenge for your Frozen one I'm pretty sure I almost put something worse in there XD]
Clark raised an eyebrow as she offered him his dropped item. "Yeah, I know," he said with a sigh, stuffing it in his pocket anyway. "Sure," he replied to her suggestion, noting how quickly she walked away. It was an odd change of mood, and he jogged after her to catch up. "Hey, you're not mad about this stupid thing, are you?" he asked, pulling out the paper again. "I dropped it on purpose. Look," he tore the slip in half and let it flutter away in the arctic breeze. "All gone." He nudged her with his elbow, a teasing grin on his lips. "Someone's jealous." He paused, his grin widening. "No guys have hit on you so far. We should start a count."
[Omg, what if Rylan came home one day and Clark had the sales lady in bed post-everything XD Awkward]

[xD Good grief, Pi.]
Rylan glanced at Clark quickly when he came up next to her, "Why would I be mad?" She turned her eyes to his hands when he told her to look, watching as he tore the slip of paper in half. She gave him a small, appreciative smile, rolling her eyes. "You didn't have to do that, Clark, and I'm not jealous." She chuckled at his last words, nearing their temporary home. "I'm not starting a bet with you that I'll probably lose," she laughed, carrying the bags inside. When she had set everything in the bedroom, she headed back outside and turned to her partner. "Let's go find a comfortable snow bank," she chuckled, pushing against his arm to get him to start walking.
[Omg, she'd be crushed. xD]

Clark chuckled and followed her inside, waiting patiently as she set everything down and then returned outside. He laughed at her words, shaking his head. "Said no one ever." He started walking, glancing around at the area. "Well, you've got a lot of choices, but I'm betting that one over there-" he gestured to a large snow bank, "-is comparable to a luxury resort hotel in the tundra. I bet it even has it's own complementary ice."

Rylan turned her eyes to Clark at his joking words, unable to surpress the giggle that bubbled from her lips. "That's by far the lamest thing you've ever said." She went over to the aforementioned snow bank and settled down behind it, frowning at the cold. When her partner joined her, she moved closer to him and leaned her forearms on her knees. "And now we wait." A few hours passed with no luck before a small truck pulled up to the back of the store. A man got out and grabbed a large bag out of the back before heading into the store and reappearing a few minutes later. Rylan straightened up and glanced at her partner, "I'd say that's our guy."
