Mola, who had already stopped and crouched in wait for Aether, twitched her whiskers when she noticed that he was no longer moving. So, the sleek mountain lion crept foreword, her lean body built with sinewy muscles that lent to her great power and prowess. When she was but a few feet from her prey, she let out a loud growl-like snarl, an obvious warning. The man had come onto her packs territory, so she was making it clear that, unless invited or guided, he was not welcome.
Kyle heard a noise, not too far away from where he was. Probably a deer, he thought to himself, but went in that direction anyway. He walked along, as silent as a Cleric could be (which was pretty darn quiet), searching for what had been the cause of the sound, the rattling in the brush.
Listening to her pleas, Alex couldn't help but laugh. If he was another man, one that preferred women over the company of men, he would surely have followed this Elora girl to the ends of the earth and back. "Alright, alright!" he said, still chuckling slightly, head shaking as he smiled. "This way then," he said, turning a little ways to the west. "Stay silent," he said, but he knew he didn't really need to tell her that- the Elves were known for their grace and stealth. They walked that way for a distance, jumping up rocks, climbing over felled trees, until they came to a rather thick area. "Through this thicket, there will be about twenty bedded down. They shouldn't know we're here. I'll lure one out, so the others will keep coming back, and you can take it." He whispered, his voice barely audible. With that, he cupped his hands, making an odd grunting noise. He waited a few seconds before trying again, all the while backing the girl and himself up behind a tree for cover. Once more he tried calling a deer out, and, on this attempt, a noise came from the brush. Alex didn't even have to peek around the tree to know that it was a young buck. He could smell it, could hear its breathing. The young male deer had undoubtedly come, expecting some doe to be waiting, and it kind of broke his heard to know that, instead of a lover, the deer would soon meet an arrow. Looking at his newfound friend, he nodded his head, waiting for her to take her shot.
((Going to have Kyle find them. Yanta, you can have your extra charrie find the group too when they start making noise. ))

[Kyle finds... Elora and Alex?]
Elora offered a wide grin, following Alex through the forest with unmatched stealth. He was right - he needn't tell her to do what already came as natural. She matched his stamina as well, something that had been gained, however, over time. An eerie stillness fell over her as she waited behind the tree. Slowly, slowly she notched a bow, pulling the string to her lips at his signal. Her breathing stopped on an inhale, and as the buck came into view, its snowy pelt and honey antlers glowing in the dappled light, she loosed the arrow. Her aim true, the buck fell with a loud grunt as the arrow pierced its eye. "Success!" she whispered faintly. She felt no sorrow for this animal. That was what it was, after all. An animal, mindless. She moved to begin skinning her kill.

Aether Aether backs up, trying to think of a way out of confronting Mola. He starts walking towards the Forest, knowing that he couldn't return empty handed and couldn't stay where he wasn't welcome. He tries thinking of something he could bring back from the Forest that wasn't small. "I guess a deer would work," he mumbles to himself, not thinking Mola could hear. He sighs as he quickens his pace. Aishi Aishi's ears twitch to an odd sound. "A deer? This far out?" She stands and stretches. "Well, at least it's something to do." She leaps down and lands in her bushes, darting from one hiding spot to the next. She was hoping for something, or someone, that she could play with. ((Feel free to have Aether accidentally going further into the territory if you want a confrontation, Sheri.))

Alex didn't watch as the arrow sunk into the eye of the deer, his stomach clenching as he heard the grunt of the young buck. Being a Shifter, he knew that, at any time, that could be him. He could be killed by mistake while in his feline form, or could turn feral from being shifted for too long. He also knew that some of the animals of the forest were just that- Shape Shifters gone feral, reverted back to natural instinct. He swallowed his feelings, though, and turned to smile at Elora, only to see that she had left. She was walking to the deer now, obviously about to skin it. "No!" he said, almost silent as he quickly grabbed her arm. He shook his head before walking to the dead deer and picking it up, hoisting it over his shoulders with a fluid grace and strength of the shifters. Though the feline shifters weren't as strong as, say, the bears, the were still quite powerful. With the deer on his shoulders, he began walking quietly back where they came, making little noise until he deemed it okay. "Here," he said, lying it down on the ground gently. "You can't spill it's blood back there, or they'll never come back," he explained as he whipped a bit of blood from his shoulder. He only smeared it, though, which made him grimace. About that time, he heard rustling in the brush not too far from where they were. He figured it was a curious animal or something, but scented the air, just to be sure. What he picked up made him tense, before his body began to quiver. Soon enough, he was a black jaguar instead of a boy, and though the shift caused a great deal of pain, he didn't show it. Instead, his lips pulled back as he released a snarl.
"What the hell?" came a noise from the bushes. Kyle had just heard talking, he was sure of it, but there weren't supposed to be any Clerics out yet. Unless, that is, it was later in the day than he thought.. In which case, he was going to have a lot of explaining to do. He came out of the bushes, eyes closed and hands up, looking sheepish and embarrassed, expecting it to be other Clerics there, rather than an Elf and a Shifter. "Uh, sorry guys, about losing you," he said, lying on his feet, "I got lost a few turns back, and couldn't find you until no-" He heard another noise, though, that stopped him. Snarling. His blue eyes shot open, hands automatically going to the weapons on his belt. He had a poker that was charged with electricity, a few knives, and some other things, but nothing for long-distance fighting. He stood there for a moment before darting behind a nearby tree, preparing himself for a fight..
«☼»
Mola growled as the man turned towards the forest, her mind instantly going to the young sifters that were hiding there. The Alpha's young twins, no less. She leapt in front of the intruder, snarling and batting at him with large paws, trying to make him back up, away from the forest. Even though he was going further into their territory, it was better, she figured, then letting him get to the pups. She had him a ways away now, and snarled again before her body began to twitch all over. She grit her teeth as she shifted, until she was crouched before him in her human body. Looking up, she stood, her jaw still clenched as she did, until her lean body was in a fighting position. "Don't move," she warned, her voice tinged with an accent and a warning growl.
((Yanta, I'm adding her to the character list, by the way.))

((Okay, Sheri.)) Aether Aether backs up a bit when Mola jumps in front of him, instantly stopping when given the order to 'not move'. He shifted to his human-looking form, fear clearly etched on his face. "Okay... okay. Just... please... don't attack me. I would rather avoid confrontation and keep my family from worrying." Feeling that his speaking wasn't helping anything, he stopped after that last sentence. Aishi Aishi stops in a bush. She pokes her head out to see that it was just a Shifter and an Elf. Her ears lower, and she sighs. She really was hoping for more. Once she heard Kyle, her ears perked and she smiles once again. "It's the human from yesterday." Seeing that he was about to attack the other two, she went to studying the Shifter. Noticing the symbol on his shoulder made her eyes widen. "That's a powerful pack. Be smart to get in good with them..." she whispers. She grins a mischievous grin as one thought came to her head. "And I also get to play with the Cleric," she thinks. Not giving it another thought, she rushes out and under Kyle, hoping to get his attention.

Elora stopped when Alex grabbed her. She was a little disgruntled by it, sure, but he obviously knew what he was doing, so she followed his lead. "Alright," she said at his advice. But then there was a noise - a noise that was different than any an animal would make. No, it was the sound of a human fumbling through the bushes. Alex's snarling fueling her response, she whipped out her bow and an arrow, notching it at record speed. But it seemed almost unnecessary. The human boy who stumbled out of the brush amused her so much that she could hardly contain her laughter. "Boy!" she called out as he hid behind a tree, a smile spread on her lips. "You'd best be moving on. You wouldn't want a fight that you could never win, now would you?"

Mola looked at Aether, regarding him with guarded, slightly-hostile eyes as he shifted into his Passing form, one of a human. It was funny, the look of fear on him, but she didn't say anything about it, nor did she let her guard down- it could be a trick, after all. "Family?" she asked, her voice hard. "What pack are you with?" she demanded, growling a little. "If you're a spy," she said, shaking her head as she trailed off. "It wouldn't be good." At that time, though, two young kits came closer, playfully batting at a butterfly. They were jaguars, their yellow pelts with black spots blending in with the yellow prairie grass around them. "Ren! Ryn!" Mola called, her voice expressing her anger at them, "Go back where I told you to wait!" she said, growling at them when they didn't move. With that, though, they listened, bounding off towards the other end of the Pridelands, hiding in a den half-covered by a log.
Kyle stayed behind the tree, his back pressing into its bark rather painfully. When the female spoke, he grit his teeth, not liking that he was being run off by some creature. Had that been.. an Elf? He wondered suddenly, his eyes widening a little. The Elves were rumored to be extinct! His excitement died down, though, as he remembered another part of his lessons- they were very skilled, and very deadly. Damn, he thought darkly. Even if he could get close enough to capture her, there was a Shifter there, too! There was no way he could take both on, all by himself without backu- His thoughts were interrupted, though, when a fox ran right at him, over his feet. It wasn't just any fox, though! It had four tails! Kyle reacted out of instinct, reaching his stick out quickly, aiming for the small animal. It was enough voltage to knock it out, or at least hurt it. Kyle didn't know that it had nothing to do with the other two Demonkind behind him- he assumed they were all in league together.
Alex, though in his feline form, laughed along with Elora, finding the actions of this young Cleric amusing. He glanced up at her, his eyes shining, wondering what she would do. If the Cleric left peacefully, he was fine with letting it return home. Would she be so welcome to that, though?
«☼»
Back behind the Wall, Luna sat looking out of the Gate, wishing she could go out there. She didn't know why she was so drawn to the place, but.. With a sigh, she turned away. Who was she kidding? She would never be allowed out there, since she wasn't a Cleric. Glancing up, she noticed that there was someone stationed at the guard tower today. "Hey, you!" she called, looking up at the boy, shielding her eyes with one of her hands. She couldn't tell, but she thought it might be Ethen.

Aether Aether growls slightly when she asks about his pack. Upon seeing the kits, however, he immediately stopped. Lowering his ears, he sighs and looks at Mola. "My pack is dead. They were all killed by Clerics long ago. Ever since, I've been living in the Ruins. The family that I mentioned is nothing more than a bunch of stray animals that have been roaming the Ruins since it was abandoned by the humans." Sadness instantly filled his eyes, he didn't want to talk about it anymore. "I used to live here, in the Pridelands, with my pack, when they were living. That's why I choose to hunt for food around here. I know this area and where all the best prey is. Please, let me at least hunt here this last time. I had no idea there was another pack in this area. I'll find another place to hunt tomorrow, if that helps." Aishi Aishi releases a pained yelp when Kyle's stick zapped her. She lands and tries to run away, but the voltage had knocked out her depth perception which makes her run into a tree. Upon colliding with the tree, she passes out and collapses onto the ground. Due to the voltage of Kyle's stick, she twitches every now and again.

The boy's attacking the fox seemed to cause something to snap in Elora. Her smile became sickly sweet and her brows furrowed, the expression in her eyes turning dangerous. The elf adjusted her position, walking in an arc around the tree so Kyle was in her line of fire. "Let the fox go," she hissed, bow drawn to her lip, "or I will strike you where you stand and gut you like a common deer. I'm open to new things - I've heard human small intestine is quite tasty!" She motioned to the ground with her bow. "Now lay down your weapons."
Ethen perked up when he heard a voice. Great, he had almost nodded off to sleep while on duty. Real professional. Getting up, he leaned over the railing of the tower and shielded his eyes with a hand as he looked down. "Luna, is that you?" he asked. Luna was his friend, he guessed. She was a little strange in his eyes, but she was nice enough and they talked sometimes. She was good company on a boring day like this.

Mola snarled at Aether as he growled, though she was still growling softly after he stopped. She listened in silence as the man spoke, realizing he was part of their brother tribe, another clan of felines that had been wiped out by the Clerics some time ago. "You don't Pass," she murmured, taking in his non-human ears. Mola, she was one of the lucky ones. She could Pass, like the Alpha's children. Not many Shifters could these days. "Come with me," she commanded of him, turning to go to the kits before pausing. "Make one false move, and I'll kill you," she warned before continuing on her way. "Ren, Ryn," she called, her voice hard as the kits mewled and romped towards her, in their jaguar form. "Come." she told them, giving them a look. "I'll be telling your father that you didn't listen to me," she let them know. Both kits made begging noises, giving her their best begging faces until she softened. "Alright, maybe I'll let you off this time," she allowed before leading the way. "We're going to talk to Kayn," she said to Aether, "The Alpha." With that, she led the way back towards the pack, hoping he would actually follow her.
As Elora walked around the tree, Alex followed, his padded paws making no sound against the ground, his muscles wriggling as he stalked. He made a deep grumbling growl, his lips baring back to show his fangs as he did, watching with bright eyes. Dammit! Kyle thought as he heard them coming. He started to move around, but it was too late- they were upon him. When the Elf spoke, he grit his teeth. "I don't have it," he said, pointing with his taser-stick to the white ball of fluff that was at the base of a nearby tree. Its body twitched now and then, making him wince a little. When the command to lower his weapons came, he tensed up. He couldn't do that! "You'll just kill me unarmed!" he said. "Just go back to whatever hole you crawled from," he said, his eyes fierce. He knew, of course, that Elves and Shifters didn't really live in holes.
Luna smiled when Ethen answered her, nodding as she shielded her eyes from the sun. "Yeah, it's me," she called up to him, walking closer to the post. Eyeing the ladder, she looked around them before climbing up quickly. "Shhhh," she told him with a wink and a smile, "Don't tell." She wasn't supposed to be up on the tower, yet there she was. She was bad about not listening to the rules.. "So," she said, sitting down in a metal chair by her friend, "Were you sleeping, or what?" she asked him, smiling a little mischievously.

Aether Aether's ears lower when she mentions his disability. He didn't speak anymore, thinking that she had come to trust him a bit. He shifts to as he was before and followed Mola. He nods as Mola explained to him that he was to meet their Alpha. Aether only hoped that he would walk away from the meeting alive. ((Don't know what to do with Aishi as she is currently passed out.))

[Slight?? God-mod?? Oops]
Elora's eyes danced with rage at Kyle's comment. In a moment, two arrows had caught the cloth of his sleeves, pinning Kyle to the tree behind him. "You will regret that, human scum!" she spat, allowing herself a moment of rage before she calmed herself again. She relaxed for a moment, thinking Kyle to be incapacitated, but still held an arrow ready. "Well, what do you think, Alex?" she asked with a tiny, plastered smile. "Should I kill him now? Or should I hold him prisoner? Perhaps he will draw out others, and we may help end the plight of our people."
Ethen was uncomfortable with this blatant disrespect of the rules, but he made an exception for Luna. It WAS pretty boring up there with no one else around, and besides, there hadn't been any Demonkind around the wall lately. "Oh, well, yeah," he said in response, laughing a little guiltily. "It's pretty boring up here with nothing to do but stare at the woods, y'know?"

Mola said nothing, leading the way in her human form. Finally, the pride's huts came into view and the scent of cooking meat wafted through the air towards them. Mola smiled, waving at a few nearby pack-mates of hers before nodding at a man sitting a few feet away. "Where's Kayn?" she asked, raising a brow as she surveyed the spear the man was making. The guy only pointed at the Alpha's tent before returning to work, so Mola gestured for Aether to follow her as she led the way. The twins had run off to play with some of the other kits of the pride, so Mola didn't have to worry about them as she showed the new guy to her Alpha's home. When she got there, she stood in silence, the rustling of the door showing that Kayn knew they were there. Soon, the flaps of the hut opened and a large man stepped out, his arms hanging at his side. "Mola," he said, nodding to his favorite guard. He wasn't worried about the man with her- if she didn't think he was safe, she wouldn't have brought him. "Sir. This is Aether. I found him hunting on our land. He has no pride or pack of his own," she said, as though it weren't clear. Kayn nodded, his eyes looking over the man in an assessing way. "Aether, I am Kayn, the Alpha of this pack. We don't normally accept newcomers with such ease, but.. If you would like, you are welcome to stay." He waited for the man to say something, then.
Kyle smothered a cry of pain when the arrows that pinned him to the tree cut into his flesh a little, too. It hurt, and a little blood began to stain his shirt, but he said nothing, instead glaring at the elf before him. He was starting to wish that he had stayed in the Wall that morning. "Human scum," he said, "How original." He knew he should shut up, but he couldn't make himself. Besides, even if he was silent, there was little hope of escaping this. "It's funny that something like you could call me scum." While he was talking, he was wiggling his arms a little, trying to loosen the hold of the arrows, but he was really just cutting into his arm a little more with each movement. Still, he didn't give it up. Alex watched as his friend shot arrows at Kyle, slightly surprised that she didn't kill him. Instead, the arrows stuck out of the tree, pinning him to it well. The boy was squirming, but Alex wasn't worried about it. Instead, he shifted back, his human clothing coming back with his skin. "Hmm," he said, cocking his head to the side as he thought, "Don't kill him. You're right- no bait is better than live bait," he said with a smile.
Luna grinned, snickering a little when Ethen admitted to having been asleep. Even though she was interested in the woods beyond the Wall, most of the others weren't. It was just one more thing that made her different, even if she didn't realize it. "I understand," she said, smiling easily at the boy. She counted him as a friend, she realized happily. "When's your shift over and what are you doing after?" she asked, lounging in her chair lazily, the oversize sweater sleeves bunched in her hands. She looked from her friend to the woods, their call once again compelling her, but she held herself back, as always. Instead of focusing on that, she looked back at Ethen, offering a smile.

Aether shifted to his semi-Passing form in respect of Kayn and to show that he was truly weaker than him. He sighs as he thought carefully of his answer. "Firstly, I didn't mean to trespass on your pride's land. I live in the Ruins and it's the only place I have to hunt for food. Secondly, thank you for the offer. I really don't know how to respond. On one side, I would like to be a part of a pride again. On the opposite side, I can't just abandon the family that I have." He looks around the area, getting a good view of Kayn's pride. "Please, don't view my hesitation as disrespect, though. It's not an easy answer for me to give." After thinking for a few seconds, he looks back to Kayn. "I just have to ask. I understand if you won't allow it, but... I need some time to try and get these strays to be able to hunt for themselves within the Ruins. That... and to say my goodbyes. If you will permit me, I'd like to come back right after and take you up on your offer."

Elora ignored the human as she talked to Kyle. "Alright then, then that's what we'll do," she agreed, pursing her lips in a small smile. She crouched on the ground momentarily to look through her pack for something. "Did you hear that, bait? You've been promoted from scum to bait in a matter of minutes. Congratulations, this is a high honor." She didn't know why she was taunting him - it would only make him angrier. Perhaps his insults had wounded her elvish pride somehow.
[I can have Elora use sleep poison or something or you can have him escape, I don't really care haha I dunno if a watch is viable around these parts, so they're gonna use a sundial. xD]
Ethen gave a little grunt at her acceptance. He looked at the sundial to his left, then began to pull at some stray threads on his sleeve. "Eh, this one ends in about fifteen minutes," he responded, a little distracted. "I dunno what I'm gonna do, I don't have another shift until later tonight." The strand finally gave way, leaving a hole in the fabric and a fray of other strands. He grunted and stopped. "You implying that you wanna do something with me by demanding all this information?" he asked with a chuckle, looking out at the woods.

Mola was somewhat surprised that Kayn offered shelter so readily; it was, after all, relatively rare for newcomers to be welcomed into packs and prides. She felt proud for a moment, realizing that it meant that he trusted her judgment of the man. She stayed silent, though, her eyes downcast in submission as Kayne and Aether spoke to one another. Kayn listened to Aether, nodding his head with a smile and a chuckle. "You'll realize, Aether, that we aren't nearly as strict as other prides are," he said, smiling at the man. "Take as much time as you need. And, if these strays are even a little tame, you may bring them here. The kits love having animals around," he said, looking over to the place that his young twins were. They were romping about in their human-looking forms, one chasing after what looked like a squirrel, the other petting a young pup. Shaking his head, the Alpha returned his attention to Aether, speaking once more. "Mola will accompany you, if you wish, and guide you back here when you've finished. Take as much time as you need," he said before nodding and returning to his tent. Mola let out a sigh, glancing at her Alpha's tent before smiling up at Aether. "So," she said, putting one hand on her hip, "What now?"
«☼»
Kyle growled softly to himself, obviously annoyed at what was going on around him. How stupid was he, getting caught out here? Damn it all, he thought bitterly. He was about to say something aloud when Elora spoke once again. "Bait?" He asked, surprised. "You really think anyone will come looking for me?" he asked, bitter. "No one will. No one's stupid enough to risk it!" He knew it wasn't true, that they would probably send a party out searching for him later on, but he was trying to convince the elf and shifter that they wouldn't. He'd rather they kill him then and there, then wait and kill his friends too. "And I thought elves were supposed to be smart.. Maybe you're not an elf at all, hmm? Maybe you're something else, something without intelligence. A nymph, maybe?" He said, smirking. Alex listened as the human taunted Elora right back, suddenly finding it rather funny. What they were doing then, teasing each other like that, it was something that Shifters often did just before courting someone they wanted to mate. It was a way of testing the other, of seeing if they were suitable. He laughed a little, but covered it quickly with a cough. What a day.
«☼»
Luna watched as Ethen leaned over and looked at what she knew to be called a 'sundial', though she didn't know how it worked or how he read it. Most civilians didn't know. They taught the workers, though; Clerics, guards, and the like. "Fifteen minutes," she said, nodding. When he asked if she was wanting to do something with him, she nodded. "Actually, yeah," she said, grinning then. "I have nothing to do for the rest of the day, and, if you're not too tired or anything," she said raising a brow, "I figured we could.. Do something." she stopped talking then, since she didn't know what they would do. It wasn't as though there was anything fun behind the Walls. There was work, work, and more work. That was it. When your shift was over, you could sleep or walk around, but that was about it. Luna sighed at the thought, and without realizing it, she turned her longing eyes to the forest and spoke, "I wish we could go out there."

Aether Aether was pleased to hear that Kayn accepted his proposal and even offered his family a place to stay. He wanted to thank him for giving his family a spot in their pride, but Kayn had already left back into the tent. He looks at Mola after she asks him what to do. Aether thinks on the matter for a bit and finally comes up with, what he believed, was the right decision. "Let's go back and get the others." Turning back to the tent, he still directs his speach to Mola. "I just wish I could give your Alpha the thanks he deserves for such an offer." Aishi Aishi awakens from the state and woozily stands. She looks around, ears flattened nervously against her head. "What happened? Where am I?" The run in with the tree and the jolt from Kyle's stick had forced her to temporarily forget the events that transpired. She spots the elf and Shifter that she tried helping previously. Seeing no sign of the Cleric, she slowly starts to make her way over to see if the two were okay, slightly limping as she did so. Her vision was still blurry from the impact and the jolt. In her mind, Kyle had somehow managed to get away from an elf and a Shifter from a high ranking pack. All of her tails dragged the ground as a sign of both submission to the elf and higher ranked Shifter, but also in the feeling of defeat to the human that wound up knocking her out.

Elora stopped rummaging through her bag at Kyle's words, taking a long moment to run them through in her mind. She ignored his insults, tired of the pointless banter. Slowly, got up and leaned over the boy, letting her face get uncomfortably close to his and staring right into his pupils. "Why," she said, letting all emotion drain from her face, "would you be telling me this if you didn't want to mislead me? Wouldn't it just be better to have us drag you around alive, thinking you to be useful, than to kill you here and now because you are not? Either you are exceptionally selfless or exceptionally stupid." Suddenly, she turned away, going back to rummaging through her bag while pretending she didn't hear Alex's quickly-covered laughter. "Nonetheless, I believe you are lying. But your friends will be my prey either way! Ah, here we go." She held up a bottle filled with a dark liquid, marked in an ancient elven language that not many could still read. "Draught of Deep Sleep, one of my favorites," she said with a smile. "Alex, would you like to do the honors, or shall I?" It was just then she noticed the five-tailed fox awakening - it took her a moment to say anything. "Oh, hello there," she said. "Are you feeling alright?"
Ethen raised an eyebrow. "What's there to do in here?" he asked with a chuckle. When she suddenly became wistful, though, he stopped his teasing. "Well, I don't," he responded. "There's shifters and elves and other things in there that would kill you without a second's hesitation, y'know. However boring it is in here, it's much safer." His speech was interrupted, however, by a middle-aged man - a higher-ranking Cleric - calling up to them from below. "Hey, Ethen!" the man shouted, squinting and covering his eyes with his hand. "Is that a civilian up there with you?" Ethen turned and froze. "Um... no?" he responded. The man shook his head, as if admonishing himself for asking that. "Well, that doesn't even matter. That's not why I came here - have you seen Kyle? He was supposed to go hunting this morning and it looks like he hasn't come back yet. He never takes this long to hunt and we're getting worried." "No, I haven't, sir. ...Are you going to organize a search party?" "We will if he doesn't return soon. Well, carry on, and be ready to join us if it comes to that." "Yessir." With that, the man continued on, leaving Ethen and Luna be. Ethen glanced over at Luna. "...That's weird," he said simply.

Mola nodded, only to wait next to Aether as he glanced back at Kayn's tent. "You can tell him later," she said with a smile. "In the mean time, come on. Lets get your friends," she said, nodding her head in the direction of the ruins. She started walking that way, figuring that Aether would follow. She lead the way, all the way to the edge of their pridelands before she stopped and waited. "Alright," she said, turning to look at Aether. "Now, lead the way."

Kyle didn't flinch away when the elf-girl pressed her face close to his, her lips close enough that he could feel them moving the air before his as she spoke. He didn't say anything, though, his blue eyes just staring back at her own eyes. When she turned away to look through her bag again, he grit his teeth and jerked hard at the arrows holding him. When she held the bottle skyward, he thought he was doomed. It seemed, though, that the Gods had smiled on him for once- the fox thing had woken up once more, and was talking with the elf. While they were distracted, he kept pulling until, finally, he felt the arrow give. His reflex's quick, he held the arrow in place as though it were still holding him to the tree, waiting for his chance.. Alex didn't see Kyle slipping the arrow out of the tree, so when he took the container of liquid from Elora, he didn't expect any trouble. He nodded to the kitsune, offering a small smile before he walked to the tree. Just as he was in front of Kyle, the human gripped the arrow that was once pinning him to the tree and lunged it forward, the tip of it sinking deep into Alex's shoulder. Alex cried out, the sound quickly turning into a feral snarl, even though he hadn't shifted. When he had lunged, Kyle had brought the full force of his body onto Alex, causing them to topple down onto the ground, Kyle atop Alex with the arrow pinning Alex down. Kyle was on his feet in an instant and, without a second thought, shot out into the forest, running deeper and deeper inside. He had little hope of outrunning an Elf, a kitsune, and a shifter (even though he was wounded), but he knew he had to try. Alex, on the other hand, was on his pack, panting as he held tightly to the shaft of the arrow. It was embedded deep in his flesh, and though he tried to take it out himself, he wasn't able to pull it out via the path it went in, so it didn't move much. When he touched it, though, he grunted, panting slightly as he held tight to it.

Luna wanted to say something to Ethen, to correct her friend and defend the forest, but she stopped herself before any sound came out. If anyone heard her speaking that way, she would be publicly flogged (if she was lucky). Those sympathetic to Demonkind were beaten, tortured, or, at best, killed on the spot. Sometimes, they were even shoved into the Forest with nothing but the clothes on their backs. She couldn't even imagine what they'd do to her- a girl they didn't know, didn't trust, if she was to say something like that. Luckily, some man came by to speak to Ethen. Luna should have hidden, but she didn't have time. Instead, she could only smile sheepishly down at the older man, giving a small, apologetic wave as he spoke. She was silent, though, until the man was out of earshot. "Who's Kyle?" she asked Ethen, tilting her head slightly to the side. "They let people go out there alone? If there's a search party, who all gets to go? If you're going, could I go?" she asked, even though she could probably guess the answer.
