Welcome to the world of Vistola. In Vistola, humans are a minority, and are, frankly, somewhat rare. Demonkind have taken over, and the world as we knew it has fallen to ruin, mindsets regressing to the thought patterns of the olden days, when masters ruled over slaves, and war is rampant. Only the strong survive this harsh reality, as most are cruel, turned cold and hardened against the hatred of war. Are you ready?

Welcome to our world.. «☼» The Dark Forest The Forest The Pridelands The Ruins The Wall This Wall was built to protect the few remaining humans from Demonkind. It is filled with electric charges(the only electricity around), but most Demonkind dont mind it. They stay out, the humans stay in.
Or, so most think.. Behind the Wall Behind the Wall is where the humans reside. There is a school, homes, a hospital, all that they need. They are strictly governed by Clerics- those trained to kill Demonkind. Human children are taught the basics of combat at a young age, and, by their teenage years, can be selected to become Clerics, if they show the skill or talent needed. If not, then they can choose to live the easy lives of a protected people. If they grow to be Clerics, it will be their job to not only hunt and kill Demonkind, but to also being some back, behind the Wall, for 'questioning'...

Things You Should Know *Supernatural creatures are accepted. This means that your characters can be nekos, vampires, werewolves, whatever. Creativity is expected, but please don't overdo it. Unicorns that fart lifesaving rainbows? No thanks. Also, please refrain from aliens. I love ‘em(Go Spock!), but they aren't okay here. Shifters can speak to other shifters when in their animal form, but only mentally. The only 'magical' characters are witches, elves, fae, nymphs, and that sort. ~ *No ones perfect- not even you.I would rather your characters not be amazing, perfect people. On the flip side, not everyone is terribly evil and whatnot. Even it out, okay? ~ *Speaking of even.. At least one male, and one female.Yes, this means you must have at least two characters. This is somewhat literate. You need to keep the genders even. I hate when role-plays have only girls, or only boys. Its not as fun(unless your character is homosexual). ~ *Romance, not Cyber. This is not somewhere to play out your nasty sex scenes. I know there's going to be a little bit of loving going on, but if you have to go there, take it to PM. You can do whatever you want over PM, and just post 'fades to black' here. Or just post that, and don't take it to PM. Then, come in on the next post, but have it later on in the day, after everything’s done or something. Its an easy way for your character to have the ability to have a family, without everyone knowing the details. ~ *No Godmodding/Powerplaying.I hope you know what these are. Don't do them too much. Obviously, with supernaturals, a little is going to be there. But don't push it. Ever. ~ *No one-player loves.Your characters cant be with each other. If you want to add some drama between them, maybe they dated a while back, but not now. Your characters would love Dave's characters! Let them meet! ~ *Semi-LiterateAt least four sentences per character. This is more than do-able. Describe what they see, smell, hear, think, feel, and all that. It should be simple. ~ *CursingSome words are alright, others are not. I would rather no one ever drop an ‘f-bomb’, since I'm sure there are some rather young people here. ~ *Out of character chattingIf talking out of character please write OOC or use parenthesis. Your chatting should NEVER be longer than your character post. ~ *I have the powerI have the power to kick you out, issue warnings, and change anything in the rules. This includes adding more. At the same time, respect everyone- I don't want trouble. On the other hand, Pie and Kitteh also have the power, since they rule the entire site. ~ Questions/Comments? If I made things confusing, let me know. Thank you.

Willow Willow woke with a start, her breath catching as she shot upwards, green eyes wide. She had spent the night in the forest, just outside of the Dark Forest. Looking around as she slowed her breathing, she saw the pre-dawn light just brightening the darkened sky, the deep navy of night giving way to the lighter shades in the east, signaling the rising of the sun. Taking a deep breath, she pushed herself to standing before jumping out of the tree she had slept in. When she hit the ground, she didn’t land in the normal perfect stance, instead rolling her ankle a little before she fell on her side, giving a small cry of pain. She was still pretty wounded from her time behind the Wall, under the Cleric's watch. Pushing herself to her feet once again, her mind flashed back to her torture- iron used to weaken her, to burn her flesh, knives and pincers that ripped and tore at her beautiful wings, and starvation that pushed her to the brink of insanity. She clenched her jaw, hands balling into fists as she brought herself back to reality. She looked around her before making up her mind- she would hunt. Silently, she started off, using her stealth to her advantage as she traveled deeper and deeper into the wood.. Alex “No, you two have to stay,” Alexandre said, smiling as he shook his head at his younger siblings. He was a little surprised that they were up already, being before dawn and all, but figured that he must have woken them as he exited their home. “But Aallleeeeexxx,” begged both of them, the twins speaking at the same time, their large eyes giving him their best pleading look; the one that did wonders on everyone else. “Nope. I'll come play later, though,” he promised, ruffling their hair before turning and running with the graceful and unnatural speed of a feline Shifter. He wasn’t as fast as a Vamp and nowhere near as fast as a Fairy or something, but he was quicker than a human(a little, at least). It didn’t matter, though, because out here, he could Pass. For human, that is. “Where to today?” he asked himself quietly, coming to a jog as he drew near the Forest. On one side, in the darkest areas, were the Dark Forest. On the other, though, was the Wall. Shrugging a little, the young man began walking, picking up rocks and sticks along the way, seeing how far he could throw and whatnot. He had already taken his run around the territory this morning, and was ready for some change of scenery. Kyle Kyle woke early, lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling of his room. With a small sigh, he pushed his feet off one side of the cot, getting up quickly. He stretched as he dressed, going about his morning routine before walking quietly to his father’s room. He glanced in, making sure the older man was soundly asleep, before he headed out of their home, toward the Gate that opened to the outside. “Hey, Dan,” the boy called, waving. “Hunting,” he said quietly, telling the guard what his business was outside of the Wall. He waved again over his shoulder as he walked through when it opened a crack, closing soon with a thunderous sound. It was a lie- he wasn’t hunting. Kyle just liked fresh air, and the woods. He liked going outside of the Wall, though it was against the Law if you weren’t going out on Cleric duty. With quiet steps, he walked into the wood, disappearing into the darkness of the trees. He would have to be back soon for Cleric training, but he had a little time to explore. His senses were alert for a time, as he was always a little afraid that he would be caught- it would mean a public beating, at least- but soon enough, he lost himself in the land. He looked around with wonder, his blue eyes taking everything in as he went. Out there, in the peace of the darkened woods, he couldn't help but wonder why the humans hid behind the Wall. This place seemed so big, so empty, yet teeming with life at the same time. It was welcoming to him, rather than a place that housed vile beings. He smiled to himself before sitting down at the base of a large, moss-covered tree, closing his eyes, content with listening to the sounds of the forest coming to life.. Luna Luna was awake far before the light touched the sky, and was sitting on her so-called bed, knees drawn to her chest, looking out of what could be called a window. She bit her lip, watching as the sun came up, but made no sound, as she didn't want to wake anyone around her. She was sleeping in what could be thought of as an orphanage, but was really a run-down building with a few beds. There were quite a few kids there, under her protection, adding up to about eight in all. Those were the regulars, the real orphans. Other children came and went as they pleased; those whose parents or siblings had no time for them, or ones that were hungry or tired, in need of help. She kept them, helping when she could, but they usually returned home, thankful, at the end of the day, to have a home to return to. Finally, she could take it no longer. She slowly crept out of the bed, careful not to jostle the young boy that was sleeping on it by her. He was maybe seven, a long scar covering his cheek, and had lost his parents when he was a babe to sickness, and his sister, whom had cared for him until then, when she went on Cleric duty and never came back. Luna smiled softly, pulling a thin blanket over him. He was hers now, just like the others. With that, she left the room, quickly making her way outside, though once she was on the street she found that she didn't know what to do from there. She milled about, then, walking as though dazed through the paths worn in by many travelers.

Aether Aether wakes up in the broken down house that he chose. He stretches and gets his ocarina. Looking outside, he noticed that it was still too late for the others to be up. His gaze shifts to his ocarina. Memories of the day his clan died flash before him. His ears lower and a silent tear slips from his left eye. His grip on the ocarina tightens slightly as the memory fades. "Don't go." he whispers, not realizing that no one was actually there. A faint mew makes his ears perk. He looks towards where he heard the sound, seeing one member of his new family. He smiles slightly and wipes the tear away before picking up the little kitten. "Hey, Jack. What are you doing up so early?" Jack just purrs and rubs his head against Aether's chest before looking up and mewing at Aether again. Aether takes his other hand and puts it where his scar was. "I guess... I'm not ever going to be over this." He looks at Jack. "But you haven't come here to hear this story again, right?" He sets the kitten on the floor and lifts his ocarina to his lips. "You're wanting this." Without any more wait, he plays the ocarina in the song that his parents taught him. Aishi Aishi wakes in her hole and stretches. Still in her fox form, she leaves the hole. She exits onto a branch that stretched from the hole. From there, she shifted into her more human-looking form. She looks around, hoping there was someone she could track or follow around. "That boy yesterday seemed to be ready to kill something... or someone. Is he one of those Cleric things that we've heard so much about?" A wide smile comes across her face. "I wonder if I can outrun him." She sighs and lays on her back and lets her legs, arms, and tails hang down. "But what are the odds that he's going to cross by here again? He already suspects no one to be here." It didn't take long for her stomach to remind her that she had spent her whole day yesterday stalking that Cleric boy instead of hunting for food. Her ears perk and she looks at her stomach. "Oh, be quiet you." She sits up. "I guess I should find some food." She jumps down and into some bushes. She looks around and quietly walks inside the bushes, looking for some animal tracks.

Elora Elora had risen with the sun, sleepily at first, but growing in energy the more she moved. Grabbing her bow and quiver, she jumped down from the tree she had been sleeping in, landing almost silently on the forest floor. She stalked through the forest like a phantom, her bow loosely drawn. She hoped to find a deer for food and fur. Better yet, she hoped she would by chance find a white deer, whose parts could be sold for a high price since they held magical properties to many demonkind. A stick snapped somewhere near, and she instinctively drew her bow taught and whipped toward the noise - but it was just a human. As she tiptoed closer, she realized he was actually a shifter. The boy seemed to be occupying himself by throwing rocks and sticks as far as he could. It was actually very amusing. "You seem to be enjoying yourself," she said with a girlish giggle. She was leaning against a tree, having put away her bow. Ethen Ethen was sitting at an outpost on the wall, watching the surrounding area. Nothing was happening. Per the norm. Demonkind hardly dared to approach the Wall and the only exciting things that happened were when the Clerics went on raids. Ethen was carving a stick, the wind ruffling his hair. He was trying to make something fancy but failing miserably. Sighing at his failure, he glanced down at the land, seeing Kyle head into the forest. Ethen briefly wondered what he was up to, but it soon slipped his mind.

With a slight wince, Willow continued on her way, ready to hunt. She knew that the Clerics would be out and about soon, hunting her and others like her, so she stayed away from the Wall. Any sane person would. She stopped suddenly, picking up a scent. A smile flickered across her lips- a deer. She was off, running a ways silently, until she was much closer. From then, she would have to be stealthy.
Alex looked over at the girl to his side when she spoke. "And you seem to be.. Concentrating. Well, you were at least," he said, glancing at the bow she had put away. He hadn't really noticed her, he was so occupied with his thoughts. The shifter boy smiled now, though, his white teeth visible in the soft light of the woods. "Hungry, hmm? Nice bow. I prefer getting my hands dirty, though," he told her, stage whispering as though it were some secret. He had been able to tell right away that she was not a human, so he wasn't worried. Had she been, he would have ran. Ran, or fought her. "Here, you try," he said, holding a rock and stick out to her, both things in one hand.
Kyle sighed, his blue eyes still closed as he listened. He smiled faintly, the cool bark against his back bringing back fond memories of days long past. Of days with his mother, lying on their backs as they looked up at the sky. Playing in the woods by their home. He shook his head, his eyes flying open as the pain in his chest started again. He would not think of it. Not of her. She was gone now, not even a body left, and he would do well to leave it alone.
Luna was still wandering, paying little to no attention to where she was. Suddenly, she jerked her head up. With a start, she realized she was by the Wall. The young woman knew she shouldn't be there, that it was frowned upon for her to stand so near it, but she felt.. Something. As though on the cusp of a great revelation, she stepped forward once more, peering silently out through part of the Gate, looking deep into the woods. It was as though an invisible string tugged at her, causing a stirring in her stomach and chest. She frowned, eyes searching the wild beyond, confusion and yearning intermingling.

Elora
Elora raised an eyebrow. "Well," she said, "concentration is a key part of hunting, wouldn't you think?" When the boy smiled, she couldn't help but smile back, although her closed-lip smile wasn't quite as dazzling as his own. "Why thank you," she replied, keeping her tone even, "but I've found that staying clean the easiest way to go about business, hunting or otherwise. Although I see your being a shifter may affect your opinion somewhat." She could tell his species from his wild looks, and his lack of clothing. These kind of things weren't very hard when you've been around as long as she. When he handed her the stick and the rock, she only laughed, the sound echoing throughout the wood around them. "What, you want me to throw these?" she asked, taking them and inspecting them closely.

Alex "That is very true," Alex said as the woman mentioned the key to hunting. He was glad when she smiled back at him, as most elves he had met were rather cool and indifferent. "Yeah, I suppose it could," he answered, nodding thoughtfully, "And I suppose that you being an Elf makes you like being clean," he said with another, lazy smile. "Well, yeah," he said when she asked if she should throw them. "Unless you're afraid you'll throw like a human," he said, eyes glittering. "After, I can help you hunt, if you want."

Aether Aether finishes his song and looks around, seeing all the strays he looked after had gathered around. He smiles slightly and looks towards the parents of the kitten that showed up to begin with. "You know, you really should keep a better eye on your son." The two cats meowed and purred. Aether laughs, showing his upper teeth. He stands and walks outside. Twisting his ears around, he searches for anything or anyone that could have entered the Ruins while he was playing. With a relieved sigh, he walks through towards the exit to the Ruins, off to find some food for him and his large "family". Aishi Aishi hears bushes moving not too far from her. She rushes over and gets ready to pounce. When she gets to the bushes, she pounces and catches a small rabbit. She quickly kills the small animal and turns to make her way to her hole. She didn't bother to shift, since she thought Kyle wouldn't be back through that area.

Elora "I suppose," Elora responded with a giggle, covering her mouth with a graceful hand. But when he teased her, her eyes flashed childishly with the challenge. "Oh," she said, "I can assure you that I throw like no human." Her tongue stuck out as she wound up. She stepped, shot out her arm, and the rock catapulted through the air, over the tops of the trees, landing somewhere in the branches a good distance away. "Throw like a human," she scoffed, taking out her bow. "Archery improves your arm strength like no other. Now, let's go. Let's see if you can catch the scent of a white deer, hm?" Notching a bow and with a sly, playful smirk, she prowled off into the underbrush.

Alex smiled, watching lazily as the elf before him accepted his challenge, taking the rock and throwing it. She was quite strong, he could tell, and had a great arm for throwing. When she spoke of archery helping, he only nodded. Though he himself didn’t use a bow and arrow, he did know that it was a great help in improving the strength of ones arms. “I see,” he said, smiling at her. When she brought up a white deer, though, he frowned slightly. “Going to kill one? They’re rather rare, you know,” he said, trying to talk her out of it. “But, if that’s what you want, I know where one beds down relatively regularly.” He was following her now as she walked about in the woods, even though they weren’t really going the right way. “That, or we could hunt one down.”
Kyle sighed softly, standing. He had fallen asleep against the tree, and his muscles were now rather tight. He looked about him, rubbing his right eye. "Couldn't have been that long," he murmured softly, and, disliking the noise in the silent forest, continued in his head; it's still light out.

Aether Aether gets to the edge of the Ruins. He turns to his following crowd and smiles, on the border of the Pridelands and the Ruins. "I'll be back soon with something delicious for all of us, trust me." With one semi-unison response, the assortment of stray house pets/their offspring signals that they will wait for him to return. With that "promise", Aether smiles and heads off into the Pridelands to find something for him and his group to eat. Shifting to his Caracal form, he speeds off on his usual routes to find food. Aishi Aishi gets to her tree. She bites down on the rabbit's scruff so she could climb the tree. She didn't care about the taste since it was one of her most eaten meals. Once she was onto the branch that held her hole, she threw the rabbit in and shifted to her Red fox form. The only thing that distinguished her from other foxes was her four tails. She pads into the hole and starts eating the rabbit. She knew it wasn't going to be long before her stomach interrupted her thoughts again, but at least this would fill her for a little while.

Elora Elora was only half listening to Alex as she could hear some scuffling nearby. She crouched low, her hand searching for something on the ground. With one fluid, practiced motion, she threw the rock into the brush, notched a bow, and sent it flying into the eye of the bird that flew up. The whole thing took no more than one second. "There we go," she said, a smile forming on her lips. She went over to collect her kill before turning back to Alex. "Now, what did you say about a bed?"

Back on the Pridelands, a shifter by the name of Mola was doing her rounds. She had just gotten to the area of the Pridelands that connect to the Ruins when she picked up on an unknown scent. A growl rumbled deep within her chest as she stalked forward, her tan pelt blending easily with the grasses around her. She had shifted when she first set out, easily taking on the body of her mountain lion side, and she was now glad that she had. Creeping forward, she finally stopped, lying in wait for the intruder.
Alex sighed when the elf, Elora, shot a bird rather than listen to him. "I said," he restarted, sounding slightly tired, "That I know where one beds down. You know, where it sleeps and rests regularly? Yeah. But I was trying to talk you out of shooting it, since it's rare and sacred." He looked her over then, smiling a little ruefully. "It's not going to happen, huh? Me talking you out of it."

Aether Aether walks along, not hearing the low growling that Mola made. He was too caught up in his thoughts to catch her scent. This was mostly trying to figure out what he and his family were going to eat. He needed something large enough to accommodate everyone. He stops and sighs. "What can we possibly have? I can't bring back anything small." Finally catching a whiff of Mola's scent, he looks around, not exactly sure where it was coming from. He crouches down and waits for her to pass him by. Aishi Aishi finishes the rabbit off and leaves her hole. She lays down on the branch, basking in what little sunlight got through the leaves. Relaxing like this made her feel a bit weird. She never really laid down and rested on the trees. Her ears lowered to touch her head. "I wish someone would come by, that way I would actually have something to do."

Elora smiled back, a little childish grin. His tired tone flew over her head. "A girl needs to live, doesn't she?" she asked. "It's not my fault their pelt is worth so much, and I've heard the venison tastes like food of the gods. And I'll only take one, I promise. They won't notice at all." She smoothed some stray hairs back from her face and placed a hand on her hip. "Well, come on then!" she urged, lips playfully pursed. "It's not every day you get to hunt rare deer with a fit young elf." She was trying to get him to take her there as best she could, using as many different tactics as she could think of to change his mind.
