Serena snorted when the man told her they wanted the girl. "Obviously." She wasn't stupid. A small smirk touched her lips at how shaken the man was as he pointed the gun at her. She put her hands up, extinguishing the flames dancing around her fingers. "You got me. I'm shaking in my boots," she said flatly, her tone bordering boredom. She sidestepped as if proffering the woman to them, acting very nonchalantly. She frowned when Aaron showed up, rolling her eyes at him. "I saw an opportunity and I took it. Thanks for ruining my fun, Speedy." Suddenly, she rolled forward in the direction of the second man as he took care of the first, pushing off the ground with her hands mid-roll and sending a well aimed kick at the man's face. She turned around gracefully on her feet and moved away from them as if nothing happened, crouching beside the woman. "Are you alright?" She offered an arm to help her up, straightening her out. "The police should be here soon to take care of these goons."

Daemos looked up as Lark walked in, his smile turning to her. "Why hello, Lark. You look stunning as always," he greeted before turning back to the subject of his questions. He chuckled at Jace's response, glancing toward the news report on TV. "At least you left her wanting more," he replied with a wink. He looked up at Lark as she addressed him, shrugging innocently. "What can I say? A beautiful woman is hard creature to ignore, especially when in trouble." He grinned and gave Lark's knee a playful shove. "You know I put selfish desires last. I'm harmless otherwise." He leaned back and put his arms behind his head, focusing his attention on the TV. He hated watching the news. There were so many people in need of help and his protective instincts made him want to reach out to all of them. "Can we watch something else? Perhaps uplifting?"

Lark fought back the urge to roll her eyes at Daemos' typical greeting. "It really hurts that you use the same line on every girl, Daemy," she said with mock offense in her voice, placing a hand over her heart. She eyed him with a flat expression as he spoke again, a small rain cloud forming over his head as he nudged her knee. Her lips twitched into a smile as rain started to fall onto his head, and she closed the cloud after dampening his hair. She nodded as he spoke of putting his wants last, "I know." She flipped off the TV as he complained before tossing the remote at him. Stretching her legs, she got to her feet and headed from the living room into the kitchen, debating what she wanted to eat as she went.

The man with the gun howled in when the gun hit him in the face, crippling to the ground. The second man took a step towards his friend, momentarily distracted. Before he could even get a curse out Serena hit him. He too crippled to the ground. Juliet watched in amazement as the two heroes took down the men. "Y-yeah I'm fine." Juliet confirmed. She took Serena's and with her help, got to her feet. "That was incredible. Your fire and your speed." Her eyes drifted over to Aaron when she mentioned speed. "I can't thank the two of you enough. You're the heroes aren't you? The masked ones." It seemed pretty obvious, but Juliet was a reporter and that's what she did - state the obvious.
Hailey watched Luke leave, wondering if she had offended him somehow. Probably just bored him. Luke was a hard person to amuse. She sighed turning her gaze towards the horizon, watching as the last rays of the sun began to disappear. Once the sky began to darken, Hailey headed inside. She made her way to her room, grabbing some socks and boots before slipping them on. Instead of using the stairs, Hailey dissolved into the floor. Once her head dropped past the floor, she turned solid, falling to the floor under her room. She landed gracefully, before heading down the hall. She pasted the kitchen, pausing to pop her head the doorway. "Hey Lark, I'm going on a walk. I won't be gone long. Thought someone should know if anyone needs me." She shrugged before disappearing down the hall and out the front door, thankful for the burst of fresh air that greeted her. She loved going on walks at dusk. It was relaxing and allowed her to reflect on life. Something she could probably do less of. Hailey also liked house watching. Although the plantation was far from its neighbors, Hailey didn't mind the walk.

Having been scolded by Eve, Jackson sat in silence for a while before standing abruptly. "If you'll excuse me," he said with a slight nod of his head. Turning away from the group, Jace walked in silence up the stairs and to his room, twisting the nob to open the door with ease. He didn't close the door all the way behind him, leaving it open just a crack before walking slowly, stiffly to his bed. Sitting heavily on its edge, the young man sighed, running a hand through his hair before holding his head in his hands. Jackson glanced up at the calendar that hung on his wall, large black X's counting down to a day whose number was special, its significance marked only by a small red circle. It was coming quickly, something he dreaded. Normally, his rutting period would last a week, and tended to happen every month or if he was lucky, every other month. Jace sighed, shaking his head. Oh, how he couldn't wait to be a sex-driven asshat.
Alex sighed, spinning slowly in the chair as she listened to calls, back to feeling female now. She sighed, looking around her as she listened, shaking her head every now and again as she flipped to the next. Puffing out her pale cheeks, Alex decided that this job wasn't as fun as it normally was, her point being made as someone called in about their missing cat. Making a soft groaning sound, she leaned forward to rest her elbows against the desk, her hands propping her head up as sh listened in silence.

Lark glanced up at the sound of Hailey's voice, nodding, "Okay, see you later." She grabbed a banana and headed into the dining room, taking a seat beside Luke. She glanced at him as she peeled the fruit, "Hey." Luke glanced up momentarily before going back to his sandwich. Once he finished, he glanced up at the other Super, "How'd that robbery go?" he asked listlessly. Lark shrugged, finishing her banana before letting out a sigh. "Fine. This guy basically had it handled. I gave him a ride home." Luke frowned, turning a disapproving gaze on her. Before he could speak, Lark waved him off. "It was fine. He's a nice guy. Sort of. Kinda rough around the edges, but nothing I couldn't handle." Luke sighed, getting to his feet and taking his dishes to the kitchen sink. Lark followed, tossing her banana peel in the trash. Luke glanced at her, "You know that wasn't smart." Lark rolled her eyes and headed toward the living room, noticing that the group had lost two people now. She continued on to the stairs, pacing up them as Luke followed. When they reached the top, he folded his arms over his chest and stared at her pointedly. "What else happened?" he demanded. Lark frowned, folding her arms as well. "Nothing. We talked a bit." She paused, shifting her weight slightly, "I... gave him my number." Luke clenched his jaw before rubbing the bridge of his nose. "That was stupid. You can't get involved with him. No friendships or relationships with civilians. It causes problems. They get hurt. You get hurt. It's not good." Lark's frown deepened, "And what do you know? I didn't show my identity. He has no idea who I am." Luke shook his head, "Just don't talk to him anymore, alright? For being so smart, you sure can do some dumb things." He turned and headed toward his room, stumbling slightly as a blast of wind hit him. He let out a long breath, but didn't turn back. He headed into his room and shut the door behind him. Lark muttered something under her breath before heading down the hall. She noticed that Jace's door was closed, knocking on it softly before she peaked in. She took a step inside, turning to look at the calendar he was gazing at. She glanced back at him, giving him a knowing smile. She went over and sat beside him, placing her chin on her palm as she sighed and stared at the wall. "You okay?" she asked in referece to her and Eve's remarks earlier.

Jackson was surprised when a knock sounded on his door, but he called out anyway "Come in," before returning his gaze to the calendar for just a moment. Taking his eyes from the upcoming date, Jace smiled at Lark, watching as she came to sit next to him on his bed. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said, nodding. "She didn't bother me. I mean, she was right," he said, sounding kind of sad about it. It was just that he tried so hard to do the right thing, but sometimes he messed up. When he did, he didn't like it, and tried even harder to do right. "Hey Lark?" he asked suddenly, turning to look at her. "Is it obvious?" he asked, "That, you know, it's coming?" he asked with a frown. There was no real telling when his rutting period might happen, he just knew that it was usually every month for a little time, or even every other month. Sighing, he shook his head. "I know I'm an ass," he told her, frowning. "I know I am, but I don't know how not to be, you know? I wish it was something Alex could just heal out of me or something," he said softly. After a short pause, he looked back up at his friend. "How about you? I could hear you and Luke talking," he said with a slight blush. "Animal here, remember?" he offered as an explanation, hoping she wouldn't blame him or anything. "Are you okay though?"
Later that night, Kayla decided to go to a local bar to blow off some steam and relax a little. Having just turned twenty-one a few weeks before, the young girl hadn't gotten tired of them yet. Having spent a good portion of her evening in one drinking shots here and there, Kayla decided that it was time to walk home. Standing from her seat, Kayla nodded to the bartender and walked outside into the cool air, smiling when it reached her and cooled her heated body. As she began walking home, she didn't notice that two of the men from the bar, two that had been making advances all night, ones she had refused, were following her. Even though they were a little drunk, they knew to be silent. Kayla, oblivious to her two extra shadows, paused before a shortcut, a side street that would lead her directly to her house rather than taking her up two extra blocks like the normal roads. Biting her lower lip for a moment, she decided that, being a little drunk, she should take the shortcut. Turning down the small side road, Kayla began walking at an easy pace, taking her time as she looked up at the sky above her. She got another ten steps before she heard them. "Hello?" she said, turning around. Some of her natural instincts were dampened by the the liquor, but she still knew she should keep walking. Turning back around, Kayla began to walk a little faster, then a little faster as she heard two sets of feet following after her, speeding up when she did. Just as she reached into her pocket for her cell phone, they pounced, grabbing her from behind and pulling her to a wall. Pinning her, they sneered down and said raunchy things, obviously wanting her to bed them. When she told them politely that she was gay, they got mad. "You jus need a real man ta show you what you're missin'," one of them said, smirking. The other nodded, their eyes gleaming with lust and malice as they looked down on her. Kayla struggled then, breaking free for a moment long enough to dial 9-1-1, though she wasn't able to say anything. Rather, she was running now, trying to escape, but they were giving chase like the dogs they were. Alex was listening in on the call, what her emergency was and all that stuff, the usual call dialogue. When no one answered, Alex frowned, listening as the operator repeated herself. "Excuse me, what is your emergency?" she asked, talking louder into the microphone. Suddenly there was a scuffling sound and a female voice could be heard shouting. Alex typed in a few codes to find out the woman's location before slapping the emergency red button, the one that would ring a siren in every room to get people to her. It frustrated her that there was finally an emergency and yet everyone was hanging out or something, no one was in there with her. All Alex could do was listen to the operator speaking with the woman on the phone as she tried to reassure the woman, even though Alex knew it wasn't being heard.

Lark glanced sideways at Jace as he asked her the short series of questions, a small smile ghosting across her lips. She nudged him with her elbow, "Yes, you're a completely moody brat," she laughed. She gave him a sincere smile, shaking her head, "No, you're fine. I can't tell when it's coming, though we can all certainly tell when it's happening." She rolled her eyes as he worried over it, shaking her head, "Stop fretting, Jace. You're always an ass so it's not much of a difference," she teased with a light smile, hoping to bring up his mood. She glanced away as he brought up her conversation with Luke, a frown settling on her lips. "I'm fine. I'm not compromising anything," she said quickly, "We're hardly acquaintances and I doubt he'll try to contact me." She set him with a hard look, her mood changing instantly, "You don't need to repeat what you heard to anyone," she said sternly before the bright light flashed on in the room. She got quickly to her feet, leaving Jace's room and all thoughts of Cole behind her. She headed into the call room, coming to stand beside Alex. "What's going on?"
Luke glanced up as the red light in the corner of his room lit up. He sighed, running a hand through his blonde hair, adjusting his glances before jogging down the stairs. He made his way into the call room, coming to stand beside Alex as he folded his arms across his chest. "Do you want to take it or should I?" he asked stiffly, his eyes hovering on the computer screen.

Jace couldn't help but grin as Lark teased him. It was a side to her that he never grew tired of, one he didn't get to see often. She was making him feel better though, something he really appreciated. As soon as he brought up her conversation with Cole, Jackson knew he had made a mistake. Lark's expression instantly hardened, and the girl he was fond of was gone, replaced by their firm leader. Sighing, Jace just shook his head, watching her for a moment. "Lark, why would I tell anyone?" he asked, sounding almost sad. She thought he would do something like that? Hardly. Before anything more could be said, the red light in the room was flashing, signalling that they were needed in the call room. Lark was up and out of his room in no time, leaving him to follow after her as quickly as he could.
Once everyone was in the call room, Alex relayed what she knew to them which wasn't much; she knew where the woman was, and that she had screamed. That was it. As Lark joined her, Alex spoke. "I don't know what's going on," she said, sounding a little miffed. "A young woman called, sounds of a struggle, she's not answering. That's where she is," she said, gesturing with gloved hands towards the computer screen where a map showed her location. Alex looked over when Luke spoke, not having realized he was there was well. "Uh, hey, why don't you take this one?" she said to Luke. He had been pretty upset earlier after talking to that Charlotte girl, and could probably use an excuse to blow off some steam. "I'll stay here, man the calls and stuff," she said, as if there was anything else for her to do. She rarely went out on calls like these, her powers deemed a little too destructive for public use.

Lark gave a slight nod as Alex spoke, her lips set in a firm line. She hated calls like this; you never knew the situation. Luke glanced down at Alex as she addressed him, nodding before disappearing down to the bunker. Lark glanced down at Alex after Luke left, "Go with him. If he has a seizure, he'll need someone there," she said with a calm smile. She waved the girl out of the seat before taking her place, putting on the headphones and flipping to the next call. She tried to push Cole and her obvious mistake from her mind. She shouldn't have gotten involved in any way with a civilian. It was a bad idea. Clenching her jaw in frustration, she moved onto the next call, forgetting Jace was in the room. Down in the bunker, Luke had put on his suit, glancing up as Alex entered. He gave her a small smile before putting on his mask and pulling on his cloak, draping the hood over his head. He grabbed a set of keys before heading back upstairs and out to one of the sleek black cars out front. He knew Alex was coming with him, so he waited until she was in the car before speeding off. He drove smoothly to where Kayla and the two drunk men were, parking in the shadows halfway down the street. He got out quickly, seeing three figures running just a short distance away, a small feminine one ahead of the others. Casting a quick glance at Alex, he focused on the two men, his hands balling into fists at his side. He sent a feeling a lethargy through them, watching as they slowed down before he influenced them to feel extreme guilt, having them associate pain with what they were doing. He gave a satisfied smile as the men dropped to their knees, and he held them there, waiting for Alex to apprehend them. It would only be so long before he'd start to seize from controlling their emotions to much.

Alex watched in silence as Luke left the room. She was glad that he had agreed to her plan, without so much as a stormy look because of what she had felt while she had spoken to him. It was pretty obvious she was thinking about how emotional he had gotten earlier. When Lark spoke to her, she was launched out of her thoughts and into the present, her eyes looking up at the older woman before she nodded. "Sure, okay," she said, obviously surprised. She sat there for a moment longer, a little shocked that she was being told to go out on a call, but quickly moved when Lark shooed at her. Sending a grin towards Jace, she left the room and walked quickly to the bunker. Alex caught Luke's smile, and though it surprised her as well, she sent him one back, accompanied by a little excitement, happiness, and surprised feelings. She went about changing into her suit, quickly putting on her own cloak and mask before she went back up the stairs and out of the door. She hopped into the car, having just had time to close the door before Luke sped off, driving quickly and easily to the place that the map had shown. It was dark out, Alex's eyes stayed on the sky as they drove, grim determination settling over her now, replacing her excitement. As they arrived, Alex got out of the car as Luke did. She was about to run after them when Luke looked at her. So that was his plan, she thought with a smile. She watched as the men slowed and dropped to their knees, ready and waiting to be caught. Alex nodded to Luke before running out there, grabbing some nearby rope before tying them up. Satisfied, Alex turned her attention to the woman who had been pressed up against the side of the building. She looked pretty scared, something that could potentially bother Luke a lot after all the energy he had just used to control the men so thoroughly. "Hey, you're okay now," Alex said, offering a small smile as she tried to calm the other girl down. Understanding feelings wasn't really her forte though, so she wasn't sure what to do. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to talk, hug the lady, or what. "Um.. Is there someplace we can take you?" she asked after a moment, looking back towards where Luke had been waiting. Kayla hadn't looked as Luke began controlling the men. She hadn't looked up when she heard someone running towards them, when she heard the scuffle of the men being tied up, or when she heard someone approaching her slowly. At the sound of a woman's voice though, Kayla opened her eyes and looked up. She was afraid, that was pretty evident. Her eyes pooled with tears as she suddenly came forward, wrapping her arms around the Hero before her, hugging the other woman tightly. "Thank you," she said before pulling away. She looked in the direction Alex had looked, not having realized there were two Heroes there instead of one. She quickly nodded, biting her lip a little as she spoke. "A ride home would be great, if you're allowed to- Er, I mean if you wouldn't mind," Kayla said, looking at her feet.
Back at the house, Jace was left alone in the call room with Lark. Sighing softly, he sat in a seat a little ways away, thinking over what had happened earlier that day. He wondered if he should go to the hospital to get his cloak, or if it would be best to just leave it. He didn't know, he had never done something like that before. He had never had to, had never been in that position. Sighing, Jace scrubbed a hand over his face, glancing over at Lark once more. He watched in silence as she flipped through calls, a slight smile on his lips.

(( Mind if I join in? )) Isaac strolled into the call room, his hand opening and closing rhythmically as he tossed a quarter in his hand. "Sharky-Larky" he addressed Lark, who was managing the phones. "Any damsels is distress? A poor woman in need of saving? Cat stuck in a tree?" He smirked at himself, obviously pleased with humor. He heard Jace sigh and turned towards the other hero, staring slightly above his eyes. It was scary how accurate Isaac could locate thing, even without using his sonar. "Ah Jace, almost missed you there!" He greeted the quiet boy as he continued to toss the thin piece of metal. "Heads or tails?" He asked. Not waiting for the hero to replay, he tossed the coin high, allowing it to flip through the air before landing back in his hand. In a matter of a second he smacked it against the back of his other hand in one graceful motion. "Heads it is." He proclaimed, not even bothering to look down. Not that would make a difference of course.

Luke release his hold over the men as Alex wrapped the ropes around them. He stumbled slightly as he regained his senses, having been fractionally close to seizing. He watched quietly as the woman turned to hug Alex suddenly, glancing around the alley. He sighed, having regained his composure. He headed down the alley toward the two woman, gently placing a hand between Kayla's shoulders. "We can take you home, ma'am, but we need to leave now." One of the men looked up from the ground, spitting toward the Heroes' feet, "We were just trying to show her a good time," he grumbled, a condescending smirk on his lips as he eyed Kayla. Luke worked the muscles in his jaw, focusing on the man momentarily, watching as he cringed, shrinking away and bowing his head. The other man glanced at Alex before Luke turned his focus on him and he reacted in a similar way. Luke released them after a moment, his head jerking to the side involuntarily. He set his jaw, gently leading the frightened woman to the car, knowing Alex would follow. He felt his shoulder jump, before a numbness spread down his arm. He clenched his jaw, fighting to surpress the inevitable. He opened the back door for Kayla, closing it once she got in. He glanced at Alex momentarily, "You should drive," he instructed rather than insisted, a cloud seeming to settle in his head as his sharp focus on life dulled. He got into the passenger seat, clenching his fists as he stared at the criminals, hearing sirens in the distance. He knew they'd be apprehended.
Lark glanced up at Isaac, chuckling at the other Hero a she shook her head. "You're something else, Isaac," she said with a smile before turning her attentions back to the calls. She glanced over her shoulder at Luke and Jace, "Well one of you should go get Jace's cloak from that girl in the hospital. Without making a scene. And Jace, the back of your head is pretty recognizable without a hood." She gave him a half grin before going back to her work.

As Luke approached, gratitude filled Kayla's eyes, a smile forming on her lips. At his words she nodded, speaking quickly. "Of course," she said, blushing a little. They probably had a lot of things to do, people to save, that sort of thing. When one of the men spit at them and spoke, she closed her eyes and shivered. A good time, right. She had made it very clear that she was attracted to women, yet that hadn't stopped them from trying. Alex could feel eyes on her and she set a steely glare on the man, though Luke really made him cower with his powers. She smiled over at him, offering a nod before following them to the car. Kayla was still looking away until Luke began leading her onward to the car. She hopped into the back, thanking Luke when he opened the door for her. She looked kind of worried as she saw the way his body was twitching, but she refrained from saying anything. She wasn't a doctor, she didn't know what was happening to him. Alex felt the same way, though she knew exactly what was happening. When told to drive, she remained silent, opening her door and getting in with one fluid motion. She started the car and pulled away, her gloved hands holding tightly to the wheel as she peeked over at Luke every now and again. She tried to emanate calm, peaceful emotions, just in case he was picking up on them right then. It was the best she could offer him, unless.. Unless she could use her healing power to help, she thought a little hopefully. Kayla spoke, bringing her out of her thoughts, giving directions to her house, and once they arrived {really quickly, as she had been almost home when she was attacked}, she smiled and got out. Pausing at Luke's window, she waited until Alex rolled it down before speaking. "Thank you for helping me.. Is there anything I can do for you?" she asked, her worried eyes flitting from Luke, to Alex, and back.
Jace was stuck in his own thoughts when Isaac entered, causing him to jump slightly. Still, he remained silent, wanting to see how long it would take the man to notice him. He saw Isaac's smirk though and thought it meant he had already been found out. A slight sigh escaped him then, which was what actually ended up being his downfall. As Isaac addressed him, a slight grin came over his lips. Jackson really liked Isaac, he was one of the Heroes that was actually really friendly towards him. Being the type of guy that wanted to befriend everyone, Jackson had jumped at the opportunity and now counted Isaac as a friend. Luckily, it seemed that the feeling was somewhat mutual. At Isaac's question, he didn't bother trying to answer; the other guy would just answer for him as per usual. "Oh good, I win then. I chose heads," Jace said, offering a grin and a shrug. When Lark spoke to them, telling them to retrieve the cloak, a shamed blush spread lightly over his cheeks. "Oh, um.. Right," he said. He wasn't sure she was happy with him until her last comment, making him smile at her once more. Joking Lark was much better than angry Lark. "Or," Jace said with a sly grin, "We could both go! You know, Isaac has his own fanclub out there. It wouldn't be wise to let him go out alone; might get kidnapped by hoards of adoring fangirls," he said with a snicker. It was kind of true though, as people would crowd around any Hero that ventured out alone. "I could wear an extra," he supplied then, still smiling. His voice was kind of hopeful, as he really just wanted to go check on the girl, Charlotte.

Luke remained quiet for the duration of the ride, pouring his energy to focusing on calming his twitching body. When they reached Kayla's house and the girl continued to hover by the window, he raised a hand to politely wave her off. "Go inside," he instructed gruffly yet gently. When she did as she was told, he rolled up the window and gestured for Alex to drive. He sat stiffly in his seat, his hands clenched into fists as his shoulder jerked followed by his knee. He was quiet, but as soon as they reached the house, he got out, fled inside and headed down to the bunker. He managed to pull off his mask and cape as the fog thickened in his mind. He stared blankly at the wall as his arms moved subconsciously to pull down the top half of his suit, revealing the jumping muscles of his shoulders and abdomen. The upper half of his suit fell around the tops of his hips as he collapsed to the ground, his shoulders curling in slightly. His unfocused eyes were trained on the ground just in front of his face as his body jerked in a series of spasms. He felt his hip lurk forward before a rich darkness took over his mind.
Lark grinned slightly at Jackson's words, "Isaac has quite a few fangirls. I think it's the whole blind thing. It makes him seem like the tough but vulnerable type," she laughed. She shrugged, "One, both, I don't care, but you should get your cloak back before someone sells it on eBay. Go ahead and take mine for now. Just be careful. I don't want to see your blonde head on the news," she chuckled, glancing back at the Hero with a smile.
