Hailey nodded her head in response to crimes. Robberies, kidnappings, and attempted murders were usual crimes for the heroes, which was extremely sad. Harvert was a large city though, so of course there would be more criminals. Hailey was surprised when Luke came over to the swing, sitting on the opposite side. It was unlike him to do that. Luke usually kept his distance from the others. He probably was feeling unusually friendly. Hailey shrugged to his lame agreement with her nail polish. “I guess it’s just my way of having something normal.” She sighed lifting her feet onto the swing, wrapping her arms around her knees. Hailey wondered what she’d be doing right now if she wasn’t a hero. Would she still be fighting crime as a police officer? Or would she have picked a different career? “Have you ever wonder what your life might be like if you weren’t a hero?” She asked, turning her head slightly so that her hazel eyes were staring at him, genuinely curious about his answer.

Luke nodded at her response, "Perhaps I should paint mine, then," he said in an attempt at humor, though his face was still serious. He ran a hand through his blonde hair as he crossed his legs at the ankles. He glanced at her for a moment at her question before looking away again. "I don't know why I would," he murmured with slight confusion. "Doing what we do is the only thing I can remember. It's the only thing I've known. I can't really imagine doing anything else." He shrugged his shoulders at her, trying to imagine having a different life, but it was hard. He could remember as far back as a laboratory. He knew nothing of his life before. Was he always this solemn and emotionless? What a contradiction that was. He could control others' emotions, but he rarely showed his own. But Charlotte's panicked voice had triggered something in him that day. It caused him to react, emotionally. It had drawn out his extremely protective side. They couldn't get emotional in situations. They had to remain calm until after the situation was dealt with. He sighed slightly and continued rocking the swing slowly.

Hailey laughed at Luke’s joke, tickled more by the fact that he was trying humor out than the joke itself. “I have extra polish if you like, but I think blue’s more your color.” She winked of course kidding. Hailey’s smile faded when Luke answered her question. She felt stupid; the way he explained doing the only thing he remembers seemed like an obvious answer. Why was she even questioning it, her purpose? She was talking to Luke, Mr. Gloom and Doom though. “You’re right I guess. I don’t know why I even think about it.” She shook her head, a few pieces of hair falling out of her loose braid. “I can’t remember anything either. Still, I can’t help but wonder…” she sighed trailing off as she looked past Luke and out into the distant. Luke was right; one could see everything from the second floor. “Have you ever had flash backs?” Hailey asked suddenly. Although uncommon, some heroes did get rare déjà vu moments and since they were on the topic of remembering, she was curious.

Luke's lips twitched as though to hint at a smile, "I like blue," he stated simply, though he was only kidding about the nail polish. It was obvious he had a hard time showing humor, as he still had a straight face. He could sense the slight change in her emotions as she felt dumb for asking. It was hard for people to hide things like that from him. He glanced over at her, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. It's fine to be curious. I just don't think about those type of things that often." He offered her a very slight smile before he turned his eyes back to the scenery. He paused at her question, hesitating slightly. He really hasn't had any flashbacks, but something weird had happened that morning. Should he tell her? He trusted her. He trusted all of his fellow Heroes. He finally decided, "No, I don't believe so. But one of the calls today...the woman's voice just set me off. I don't know. I can't explain it." He let out a breath, "Have you?"

Alex had been roaming the halls, not wanting to go back to talking - bothering - Luke, but not really wanting to sit in the living room with Eve and Jackson either. Sighing, ze started to walk towards the stairs, having decided to just go chill in zer room for a while. Just before ze got there though, Luke came past and asked zer to man the calls. "Sure thing boss," ze said with a smile, watching as he went up the very stairs she had been eyeing, not bothering to check and make sure ze was actually going to do what he had asked. "Sure thing," ze repeated to zerself, turning back towards the room she had vacated only moments before. Upon arrival, Alex took a seat in the chair that waited at the desk, swiveling in it once before settling in and picking up the headphone-microphone pair, ready to start weeding. Nope, nope, nada, uh-uh, ze thought as ze listened, flipping through the calls one by one, careful to listen to each.
Jace was still slouching on the couch with his eyes closed, a particular look on his face, when a voice spoke from another part of the room, startling him a little. "Oh, Eve," he said with a spreading smile, having looked up to see who was there. Seeing what she was reading, his smile only grew. He knew better than to say something about it though. "Oh uh, yeah, kinda," the man said as he ran a hand through his tousled blonde hair. "I just got back and, well.. I dunno, I was just thinking." He really had been thinking, too: Jackson had been thinking about the woman he had rescued that day, Charlotte, and the way Luke had reacted to her call. "Hey Eve," the man said suddenly, glancing up at her, "Do you think- I dunno- that people can remember things without really remembering them? I mean like.. It's sorta there but not really?" he asked before smiling sheepishly, blushing a little in embarrassment. "Never mind, that doesn't make any sense," he said, chuckling a little.
Cole was a little surprised (and wary) by the speed at with the Hero was driving, but he said nothing about it, his only tell being the slight arch of his left eyebrow. "No problem," he said, waving off her apology for it as he continued to look out of the window. "That must be.. Tough," he admitted after a moment, replying to her saying that civilians chased her all of the time. It had to get old. Moments later, they were in front of Cole's house (which is where he had thanked her). When the Hero replied to his thank-you, Cole let out a sigh and looked down, shaking his head slowly. "That's not- that was wrong of me," he said, glancing back up at her. "'S not really your fault. I get it- you're only human. Er, superhuman," he said after a second, an odd look on his face at the thought of it. How surreal. "You can't save'm all," he said softly, thinking back to his days in the war, as well as to his little sister. With that, the man opened his door and started to exit the Hero's car. When she spoke again however, Cole paused to answer her, peeking his head back down to look through the still-open door. "Cole," he said with a hint of a smile, "Blake Cole. What's yours?" he asked then spoke again before she answered. "Obviously you can't tell me your real name, and I'm not asking that. There's gotta be something I can call you besides Hero though," he said. After a few moments and a glance at her hands, Cole frowned a little. "Hey, you wanna come in for a minute? I'm not hitting on you, swear, but your hands.." he said, gesturing with his own bloodied fingers towards hers, "You could wash them."

Lark kept a straight face as he explained himself, her eyes flickering with some unknown emotion for a moment before it disappeared. A bemused smile graced her lips as he corrected himself and called her "superhuman". She made no comment on his clarification, knowing that she had failed to do her job and that he was correct. She watched his back as he exited the car, tilting her head slightly when he peered back in at her and told her his name. "Cole," she said with a small nod, "It's nice to meet you." She paused as he asked her for her name, straightening in her seat a bit uncomfortably. She visibly relaxed as he realized her predicament and she couldn't help but smile. Someone who finally understood. She pondered for a moment before gazing up at him, "You can call me Brie." At his offer, she turned her eyes to her hands, not having realized the amount of blood on them. She sat there for a moment, seeming to hesitate as she analyzed the various situations that could possibly happen. He could attack her. Possibly harm her. He seemed strong, apparently ex-military. But he was only one person. She ought to be able to handle him. She finally shut the car off, not looking at him as she said, "Sure. Thanks." She pulled the tie on her cloak and slipped out of the car, the keys in her hand. Left only in the black suit and her mask, she glanced around, appearing cautious. She pressed the automatic lock button on the key chain before following him inside and to his apartment. She was slightly stiff, glancing around as she hoped no one saw her. When they reached his apartment, she followed him inside quickly. She glanced around, walking around the room. She paced around, not all too aware of the proper house etiquette. She hadn't dated anyone, nor had she been in anyone's home since the experiment, so she wasn't certain of the correct manners. She never completely turned her back to him. She stopped in front of the picture of a young girl, smiling slightly. "Is this your..." she paused to guess the relation, "...daughter?"

"Likewise, Brie," Cole said with a nod as the Hero told him a name he could call her by. He had noticed how uncomfortable she had grown when he asked for a name, and noticed it again when he invited her in. "I'm not going to rape you or anything. Besides, if you felt threatened at all, you could always zap me or something," he said, attempting to lighten her mood a little. Why? he wondered, but had no answer. It seemed that his point had reached her because just moments later, the car was off and she was beside him, following him up the walkway to his house. She was wearing only her mask and her black outfit now, and though she was walking with him, it was obvious that she wasn't at ease. Coming to his house, Cole unlocked it and opened the door, stepping inside to flip on the lights. "Here we are," he said unceremoniously as he looked around. His house was spotless, something that had stuck with him since his days in the service. He watched silently as Brie looked around the room, turning away after just a moment to close the door behind them. "Bathroom's that way," he said as he pointed down the hall, "Second door to the right." He could still hear her walking around as he lifted his mail up, flipping though it until her voice sounded, interrupting his thoughts. Cole stood there silently for a moment, still holding the mail, one envelope halfway behind the others. "No," he said simply, glancing at the picture she was talking about. Cole went back to flipping through his mail though he was going a little faster than before, not noticing the smears he was creating in the corners. "Like I said, bathroom's this way," he called, having set the mail down to retire that way himself. Once inside, Cole washed his hands quickly, scrubbing the blood off before cupping some of the clean water to splash into his face, heaving a deep, slow sigh. "Of course she'd ask about it," he whispered to himself, his eyes closed. Sighing inwardly once more, Cole backed out of the room, turning back to the direction of the Hero. He would let her go in alone, just in case she was still uncomfortable.

[So...with no good place to enter, I will assert my awesomeness into rescuing Juliet as apparently nobody else wanted to do : P]
Serena, in want of escaping the plantation for a while, had wandered into town, wanting to do a little solo scouting on her own. Obviously, not every crime was reported to 911 and sniffing out crime yourself was better than facing social time with the other Heroes. She had stealthily climbed a building earlier and was scouting out the city at a bird's eye view. Nothing overly interesting had happened the majority of the day and she'd begun to lose hope anything of interest would happen when suddenly a woman came running into the alley she had been scanning. Looking past the streets, Serena saw a couple of men in pursuit of her. Leaping down into the alleyway, the Hero landed with a light thud, facing the oncoming men. Her hands filled with flames and lit the darkened alleyway, revealing the fiery woman. "What's the hurry, boys?" she purred, standing directly before the fallen woman to keep her from further harm.
~~
Daemos had been spending quite the lazy day in his room, although it was well deserved after the fire he had rescued some civilians from the previous night. He could feel the fireproof layer of skin fading as his body returned to it's normal stasis. The downside of super adaptation was a super appetite. He descended the stairs to the kitchen to grab a banana and then stepped into the living room where Isaac, Jace, and Eve were speaking. "Hello, everyone. Eve you are looking especially radiant today. Gentlemen." He nodded to the others, sitting down on the couch beside Jace and taking a bite of his banana, not realizing that he had partially interrupted a conversation.

[Aaron will probably meet her there, Pi. xD And that is amusing considering your post signature. Anywho...]
Lark glanced away from the picture and at the man at his curt response, tilting her head slightly. It would appear that she struck a nerve. She closed her mouth as he restated the directions to the bathroom, figuring that he didn't want to speak about the matter. She turned her eyes back to the picture as he departed to the bathroom. She sighed, deciding that she needed to leave soon so as not to make the man anymore uncomfortable. She heard his whispered words as she drew near the hallway, wondering what it was that he didn't want to speak about. She turned her head to inspect something as she passed by it, only to nearly run right into Cole. She stopped herself short, drawing away from the man quickly. She stared at him for a moment before dropping her eyes and easing around him, her arms behind the back of her skintight suit. She headed into the bathroom, quickly and efficiently ridding her hands the woman's blood. She let out a breath and headed back out to the main part of the house, pausing a safe distance from Cole. She was itching to ask about the girl in the picture, her eyes flickering to it as she stood there. "Thank you, Cole. I won't bother you any further." She finally pulled her eyes back to him, offering him a smile as she made her way to the door. She paused in front of it, turning to face him. Her ponytail was coming loose and stray pieces were falling to frame her face. "If you don't mind me asking, were you ever in the military?" she asked suddenly, tilting her head as she gazed at him from behind her mask, her deep blue eyes questioning.

Jackson looked up when Daemos came into the living room, offering Eve a compliment and a nod to the others as he sat on the couch and ate a banana. "Oh, hey D," the boy said with a smile, nodding at the other man. Jace wasn't sure what Daemos thought about the nickname he had given him, but since it had never been made clear that he minded, the boy continued to use it to refer to his Hero friend. "What's up?" he asked, his mouth still shaping a smile, even though he had obviously interrupted the conversation that Jackson and Eve had been having. Still, it's not like Jace had been enjoying the talk- rather, he had made somewhat of a fool of himself.
Cole was just as surprised - if not more so - when Brie ran right into him. "Oh, uh, sorry," he said awkwardly, looking her over quickly to make sure she was okay. "I didn't see you," he told her, watching as she slithered past him and into the bathroom. What an odd lady, he thought to himself, watching for a second before leaving back to the living room area. Cole came to a slow stop in front of the picture of his sister, his body seeming slightly deflated as he looked at her, his greatest failure. The man only looked up when he heard the Hero coming back down the hall to join him, her hands freshly washed, his eyes watching her silently as she stopped a ways away from him. Cole could see Brie looking at the picture behind him even as she thanked him, making him weary. He was silent as she turned away and headed to the door, quiet still as she turned to look at him. At her question, he nodded. "Yeah, I was a Marine," he said. "I left the service a few months ago," he said evenly, "After I was told my little eight year old sister Claira had been murdered." He had said it spur of the moment, and didn't even understand why. Once he started though, he couldn't stop. "Just one day before you guys started saving people, her school bus was taken over by three armed hijackers. They took the kids as hostages and killed the driver. The cops got a bunch of the kids out of course, but not my sister. They couldn't get her out before they barged in and started shooting the place up. They couldn't even tell us whether it was their bullets or the other guys' who killed her." Cole was silent for a while, his eyes on the ground before he looked back up at Brie. "It's not fair to you, I know that. But sometimes when I see the news, when I hear about all the great stuff you guys do, I can't help but wonder.. Where were you? Were were the Heroes the day my sister was taken from me?"

Lark nodded as he told her that he had been a Marine, opening her mouth to say that she had expected as much when he was suddenly spilling his sister's story to her. She quickly closed it, watching him with ever-softening eyes as he spoke. So the girl in the picture was Claira. She felt a painful twinge in her heart. She spoke without thinking at first, "Well, forensics ought to have been able to discern between the different types of bullets unless the hijackers were using police issued weapons." She stopped suddenly, realizing that her analytical side was coming out and she frowned. "I-I'm sorry," she murmured, uncertain whether it was for her awkward ramblings or him losing his sister. She recognized the case; everyone had heard about it the day after. She dropped her eyes to the ground as she searched for something to say. She wasn't entirely sure how to respond; the scientists hasn't exactly taught them about these type of situations. She lifted her eyes, gazing at him. "I'm sorry that we couldn't save your sister. I remember that incident. It was the day before we were... uh, released. I really feel terrible." She tentatively moved toward him, hesitating before placing her hand on his upper arm and squeezing it gently. "I see what you mean by "too late". I thought I'd only been too late twice in my duty, but it would appear that it has actually been three times." She knew it wasn't the Heroes' fault, but she still felt a desire to consol him. "I'm sorry you lost your sister. She was a beautiful girl and I'm sure she was a wonderful person." She gave him a soft smile before she glanced around, seeing a pen beside his mail. She walked over and wrote down her cellphone number on the back of an envelope before walking back to him. She offered him the envelope, "This is my number. Please don't give it to anyone. You can call me or text me if you want to talk or anything." What was she doing offering to hang-out with a civilian? She smiled warmly, "Granted, though, you can't see me without my mask so we can't meet anywhere public," she said with a small laugh. She waited for him to take it, if he even would.

Cole wasn't that surprised when Brie started talking about forensics and the apparent lack of logic on the side of the police, but he didn't say anything. He was still watching her when she seemed to realize what she was saying, stop, and start over. As the Hero began apologizing, Cole instantly regretted having told her. Not only was it not her burden to bare, but her apologies didn't make it any easier on him. He was surprised to hear that the Heroes knew about it, that they'd been made aware of it after it had happened, but not as surprised as when she touched his arm, giving it a light, reassuring squeeze. He didn't know what to say, so he didn't Cole stayed silent as Brie left him to grab a pen, jotting something onto an envelope before returning to stand just in front of him, her hand extending the object. Looking down at it as he reached slowly for it, Cole realized what she was giving him. Looking back up at her with unsure eyes, he spoke, "Are you sure?" he asked, "Won't you get into trouble or something? I mean, I could easily give this to the press. I could track it to find out where you guys live," he warned, though they both knew he wasn't going to do it. After a moment, Cole smiled a real smile. "Thank you," he told her with soft eyes. "Thank you for everything."

Lark frowned slightly at his words, tilting her head slightly. A smiled grew on her lips, though. "It's a good thing that we aren't that easily traced then, huh?" she said with the faintest of smirks. In reference to him giving the number to the media, "I don't think you're that kind of person." She refrained from telling him that she probably shouldn't be giving him her number as it could cause problems. She shouldn't really be associating with a civilian. She gazed up at him as he gave her a genuine smile, returning it with one of her own. "No problem," she murmured in response to his thanks. She nodded her head slightly, "Try to stay away from convenience store hold-ups," she said lightly by way of goodbye before turning and heading to the door, disappearing a moment later. She headed out to the car, unlocking it and opening the door. She pulled the cloak back on, pulling up the hood before she slid into the car, starting it and speeding off to the manor. She got there in good time, a smile on her lips. Surely Heroes and civilians could be friends. Though she didn't know him very well at all, he seemed like he might be able to be trusted. She walked with light steps into the manor, glancing at the small congregation in the living room as she headed toward the bunker to change.

Daemos shrugged at Jace's question. "Nothing, I've been sleeping off last night. What is up with you?" Even though Dae had lived in America for a long while, his Greek accent was still thick, especially when relaxing amongst the others. "Anything eventful happen in the time I've been absent?" he asked, finishing off his banana quickly and running his fingers through his long hair. "Any distressing damsels?" A grin spread over his lips at the question, merging on mischievous and lighting up his handsome face. "Getting a little action?" He winked at the other Hero.

Lark headed down to the bunker and changed quickly, glancing at Jace's things. Something was very obviously missing. She sighed, rolling her eyes before she headed up the house and then to her room. She showered, figuring that she might be close to done with everything for the evening. Surely the other Heroes would want to respond to a few calls. She pulled on a gray t-shirt and a pair of black capris sweats before heading back downstairs, allowing her hair to flow about her face, still a bit damp. She went and found Jace, Eve, Isaac, and Daemos congregated in the living room. She grabbed the TV remote and sat down on the arm of the couch. She chuckled at what Daemos was saying before glancing at Jace. "Missing a part of your uniform?" she asked the man as she turned on the TV. She had heard a part of the news over the radio on the way home. On the television was a video of Jace as he brought Charlotte into the hospital, the newscaster speaking in the background. "...fearless Hero brought the bleeding girl to the hospital. We later found out that the police had arrested a man tied up in the woman's apartment." The image flickered to a TV crew attempting to enter Charlotte's room for an interview with doctors and nurses standing outside, trying to shoo them away. "We attempted to interview the woman, but the doctors told us that she was not in a good enough condition to do so." Lark shook her head and flipped the TV off at that point. It disgusted her that they were trying to get to an injured woman simply for something to film on the Hero.

Cole watched in silence as the masked Hero left his house, his eyes following after her as she walked to her car and pulled on her cape, looking mysterious and regal at the same time. Curious that he had invited her into his home, and had been happy to find her number. Curious indeed, considering how he really did blame them for the death of his sister. Sighing, Cole turned away from the road once she was out of view (which didn't take long!), and walked back inside of his house, still holding the envelope in his hand. He closed the door behind him, walking slowly towards his fireplace, pausing as he looked upon the mantle at the picture of his sister. His eyes were sad, but not as sad as they had once been. Sighing, Cole shook his head, sat the envelope beside the picture, and went back into his kitchen to cook for himself, glad he had remembered the milk.
Jace nodded as Daemos spoke, the easy smile still on his face as he listened. He knew that the other Hero had saved a lot of people from a burning building the night before, something that Jace wished he could have helped with, but alas; Daemos was the only one that could be truly fireproof. As D continued to speak, Jace's lazy smile turned into a grin as he laughed a little, shaking his head. "Nah," he said, shrugging a little, "I saved a girl from some robber, but that's the only action I got. There wasn't much swooning being done," he said with a dramatic sigh. Just then, Lark came in and sat on the arm of one of the chairs around him. When she spoke, Jackson started to blush lightly, "Er, yeah. The girl, Charlotte, she was going into shock so I wrapped her in my cloak," he admitted with a sheepish shrug. As she flipped the television on, Jackson stopped smiling and started blushing a little, not looking that happy any longer. "I messed up, didn't I?" he said, mostly to himself after a little while. He felt bad about what was going on with Charlotte because he had carried her in, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Lark shrugged at Jace's response, "No. You were just doing your job. It's those stupid news crews. If they just gave everyone a break..." She shook her head, drawing her feet up onto the arm of the chair. "Just get the cloak back," she stated simply, hoping there hadn't been any of his hair on it. She realized she was being a buzzkill and a smile formed on her lips as she glanced around at everyone in the room. Half of their group was there. She noticed the book Eve was reading, but said nothing. She was always looking for ways to be the best she could be. Her eyes flickered to Daemos and then Isaac in turn before she dropped them to her sweats, plucking at the material as she fell silent. Her quiet, docile side was showing now that all the matters had been dealt with.

Hailey had forgotten that Luke could read emotions and felt even dumber than before. She tried to fight back her feelings knowing all to well that Mr. Emotions knew exactly what she was feeling. “No, no, I’m fine really. It’s just an obvious answer. I love what we do – helping people – I just wonder sometimes.” She shrugged her shoulder not particularly sure where she was going with that thought. Confusion played on the pretty brunette’s face when Luke mentioned being set off. “Set off as in what? Angry or sad?” She wasn’t sure what the man meant, but she was pretty sure he didn’t even know what he meant. She sighed when he turned the question on her. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear before looking at her shiny silver toes. “No.” She answered flatly. “I have yet to experience one. If I’ll either experience one.” She mumbled the last bit under her breath, melancholy evident in her voice.
Juliet let out a startled scream when Serena dropped in front of her, flames igniting from her hands. Her fear dissipated however, for Juliet knew that only the masked heroes that ran around the city fighting crime could be capable of such a thing. The two men stopped in their tracks when Serena appeared. They stumbled back a few steps when fire came out of the woman’s hand. The skinner one cursed before pushing the other man forward reminding him they had a job to do. “Like hell I’m doing it. Those are freakin’ flames. Flames!” The skinner one watched Serena cautiously. “Take this then.” The man tossed him something that Juliet couldn’t make out due to the lack of light in the alley. Her icy blue eyes grew large when she realized it was a gun. With a click of the gun the larger man aimed it at Serena. “We don’t want any trouble. We just need the girl.” Fear was present in his thick European accent as the man began to take slow, cautious steps forward.
Isaac had finished his sandwich by the time the others had entered the room. He sighed only half paying attention to what they were all saying. It had been a long day and there were too many people speaking for his sensitive ear to keep up. He grinned when Jace mentioned a girl me apparently lost his cape too. “A Charlotte eh? Getting friendly with the ladies are we Jace.” He winked teasing his fellow hero. “Always the quite ones.”

[Jesus christ you people reply fast now. xD I can't keep up anymore. Sorry Pie. Sorry everyone who was in the room with Eve.]
Aaron pumped his fist. "Haha, yes! Thanks, Luke my man!" He raced away to get his things from the bunker. Naturally it only took him a second (a literal second, mind you), and he was off. He avoided travelling by car when he could because he could actually travel faster by himself, as long as he made sure he didn't get too worn out. It took him a few moments to reach the alley where the scene was unfolding. "Aw, what?" he exclaimed as he saw Serena ablaze in front of the girl, the gunman ready to shoot. "How'd you get here? I had this one!" Obviously not fazed, he shrugged. "Well, whatever, I'll just help then." He flashed in front of the gunman and slammed the gun into the man's nose.
[Hollypop: I didn't know if you wanted to rp the gunmen or not so I just did Aaron. Hope you don't mind. xD]
"Well, that's dangerous," she replied stoically when Jace said he'd been thinking. She listened to his question seriously, though. "No, no, you're question is perfectly legitimate," she said while still not looking up. "It all has to do with suppressed memories. You know when you cannot quite recall a word or the like and you say, 'It's on the tip of my tongue'? The memory of the word is still there, but it just buried somewhere in your consciousness, just out of reach. Given some further information or emotional stimuli, the word may still be retrieved. It is the same with all memories." She stopped with the speech as Daemos entered, ignoring his compliment and returning to more deeper reading. When Lark entered and turned on the TV, she closed her book with a sigh. She narrowed her eyes at Jace for his stupidity - she thought the same thing Lark did - but left it alone. For a second. "Nonetheless, the news crews are not prone to change and we will need to work around their... habits. We can't afford to slip up, Jace, and you know that."

Luke shrugged stiffly, "It just upset me," he stated simply. He let out a sigh, staring off into the distance. He gave a curt nod at her words. "That's how it was meant to be," he murmured. After a few minutes of silence, he stood up, "I'll talk to you later," he said softly before exiting the balcony and heading downstairs to fix himself something to eat. He walked passed the group situated in the living room, glancing at them for a mere moment before continuing on into the kitchen. He made himself a sandwich, then grabbed an apple and a glass of water before taking a seat at the table in the dining room. He began eating, thinking mundane thoughts.
Lark glanced up as Luke walked by, but said nothing. She glanced at Jace as Eve scolded him, nodding her head in agreement. She slid off of the arm and into the chair, her legs dangling over the side. "You should listen to her. You know she's right." Eve was often right. With her abilities and her brains, she was often correct about many things and was typically the voice of reason in their group. She glanced from Jace to Daemos, "It's not all about trying to "pick-up" the civilian females," she said with a slight smile. "You have to stay focused." She knew they were both very good Heroes; Daemos had just rescued several people from a fire.
