Luna the UnknownName- Because she doesn't remember her real name, she was given one by those that found her- Luna. Age- She looks to be anywhere from seventeen to nineteen. Gender- Female. Personality- Her personality shifts, as does that of every living thing; one moment, she is sweet, and innocent, but when angered, a fierce, feisty side comes out, one that won’t back down from a fight. She has a motherly instinct, but with no children, it only comes out when there are kids around. Overall, Luna is a mystery, just like her past. Luna enjoys learning, exploring, and listening. She is like a child at times, the way her eyes light up with curiosity. Children and animals are some of her favorite things. Luna doesn’t like that she cannot remember anything, though she tries not to let it bother her. Mostly, though, she doesn’t like the feeling that she isn’t all there. That part of her is missing, or.. Sleeping. Her flaws, you ask? Well, not remembering who or what you are is a pretty big one. Other than that, the headaches she sometimes gets, and the way her moods change quickly. She is good with people. Everyone loves her(well, mostly..), and she loves them. She is able to defend herself, even though her small frame may be slightly helpless-looking. She is good with planning, and is swift, and nimble- she is able to get in and out of small places, as well as tough situations, with relative ease. History- Luna doesn't remember her history, but this is how it all happened.. Luna was born unto two loving parents, ones that would do anything and everything for their young daughter. They also happened to be very, very rich. They had been the perfect family, honestly, with no problems. One day, though, while Luna was walking home from a dance, she was attacked. She had fought as best she could, but when she realized she was going to lose, she screamed. Her attacker had done the only thing they knew to do- they picked up the nearest hard object, a rock, and hit her in the head with it. Luna had been knocked unconscious, but the assailant had thought her dead. So, they picked her up, carried her to their vehicle, and had driven a few towns over until they were no longer in the big city. The person had then dumped her body in a field and had fled, leaving her helpless and alone. When Luna finally awoke, she had walked until she found a house and asked for help. It was soon apparent, though, that she had no memory of how she had gotten there. She had no memory of anything, really. They had found something that mentioned the city, though, so they thought that's where she had come from. The next morning, they paid for a bus to take her there, wishing her the best. Before she left, though, the couples son had nicknamed her Luna, mostly because of how the moonlight made her look in her white dress. Other- Though Luna was found in a thin white dress, she now wears mostly pants and tee-shirts. She doesn’t really have any clothes of her own, nor does she ever wear shoes. The only thing that is really hers is the braided rope bracelet she wears around her ankle. A slight scar runs through her right eyebrow, but she doesn’t remember how she came to have it. She has very green eyes, framed in thick lashes, which give her an exotic, mysterious appeal. These large eyes make her look doe-eyed, or innocent at some times, but when she wants or needs to be, she is quite fierce-looking. «☼» Who was Nathan S. Ross?Name- Nathanial S. Ross. Age- Nathan is a whopping twenty-two years old. Gender- Male. Obviously. Personality- Nathan can be rather cold and calculating on the outside, and.. Well, cold and calculating on the inside. He has a protective outer shell, then another protective shell, then another, then one more. Then, deep, deep, deep inside, there's the real Nathan. The old one, you know? That Nathan? He's kind, sweet, and caring. He enjoys things and is actually able to be happy, or at least content. The one on the outside though, he's different. Usually, he won't let himself feel things. Not just hiding his emotions, either- he literally shuts them off. Intensive training can do that. Nathan has a rather unruly temper once it's been breached, but he's usually cool and collected enough that he won't let it show. It takes a while to get past this ice king part of him, but once you've done it, he'll never leave you. He's fiercely protective and is trained enough to protect those he cares for. When I say "those he cares for" I mean those he's paid to care for. He's very intelligent, charismatic, charming, and is very smooth in social situations. One has to be, to do his job effectively. History- Taken in at the young age of six, Nathanial Ross has trained his entire life to be the perfect killing machine. No one really remembers who did the training- the US government, a terrorist group, or someone else, but it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that, from the age he could defend himself until two years ago, Nathan had been the nightmare of many men and women worldwide (though mostly in the US). A silent threat, Nathan was the best murderer the world had seen in a long while. What happened? No one knows. Suddenly, this attack dog was off of the map. It was as though he had just.. Disappeared. All he knows it that his name is Nathan Ross, he's twenty-two, and has some killer skills. Literally. He has nightmares, terrible nightmares, about things that he's done, but he's constantly told that's all they are- bad dreams. Now a free-lance bodyguard, Nathan floats from place to place looking for work. He has his own apartment, one that overlooks the ocean, and that's where he spends most of his free time. Out on his balcony, looking at the sand and water. It calls to him, but he doesn't answer. Cold and calculating, remember? Anyway. What Nathan doesn't know is that whoever trained him wiped his memory and planted him there in the city. They bought his home, his car, everything, and gave him fake memories- fake girlfriends, fake family dinners, fake everything. As far as he knows, Nathan is a normal guy with some wicked dreams and cool reflexes that's pretty great at hurting people. What the government knows, though, is that he's like a time bomb ready to explode. Other- Other than the fact that Nathan has no idea he's dealing with a mermaid? A princess mermaid? No, nothing at all. Scratch that- one thing is very important. He drives a '67 Chevy Impala. Black. Always. And no one, no one **** with the car.

Cam: Protector of Luna Name - Cameron Ritter Age - Twenty years old. Gender - Male. Personality - Cam is very duty oriented. The job comes first, personal matters and other things come later (which often means never). Cam has always been a very serious guy, however he is also an extremely good actor. His poker face is unrivaled and tends to help him get out of sticky situations. Although he seems robotic on the surface, Cam is an extremely caring guy. He cares for people deeply when they get close to him, he's just not very good at showing it. He also tends to not let people get close to him because he knows in his line of duty, sacrifices have to be made. This makes him seem very self-serving, however, deep down Cam is a people pleas-er. He's bad at making decisions when it comes to his own life and he always chooses his job over relationships with others. That's why he has no friends and hasn't spoken to his family in a long time. It's easier to please people when you don't have a lot of them relying on you. Cam is a quick thinker and always manages to keep a level head in the heat of the moment. However, in arguments he tends to shut down internally and will clamp his mouth shut before he says anything too damaging. He can hold a grudge for a while and is a bit childish when it comes to things like that. History - Cam got into the law enforcement career as soon as he left high school and has been trained thoroughly at the police academy. He lost contact with his family a year after he began his job. He was assigned to Luna after the family got a call from the police department about her whereabouts. He was told to befriend her and try to bring back her memory. They have to keep the investigation under wraps because the person who attacked her has not yet been found and brought into custody. Cam is to stay with Luna and keep her out of the public eye until the investigation is brought to a close and the perpetrator is behind bars. Other - Cam is a tall, well built guy with dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. His dark hair is kept in a short modern style common with young men his age, tousled ever so slightly when in his casual clothes but quickly put in control in the office. While guarding Luna, he wears button downs and jeans, keeping it casual around her with his sleeves rolled midway up his arms. When he goes into the office, he's all business with white collared shirts and slacks. He's well stocked on weapons with a glock as his first choice. He keeps a dagger strapped to his leg and has various weapons distributed around his home for protection, mostly of Luna.
Vivian: Princess of the Sea Name - Vivian...at least that's what she was told. Age - She looks to be in her late teens. Gender - Female. Personality - Vivian is a very sweet girl but she is also very naive. She tends to overestimate the kindness of humanity and is very gullible. It takes a lot to anger her and she is easily hurt by harsh words from others. She's friendly, sometimes it can be a little extreme, and she would do anything to please others, even if it meant handing a stranger all of her money because they asked. She's not easily scared and likes to live on the edge, doing things that others wouldn't be so quick to do. She's a little bit dreamy in manner and tends to think aloud, saying random things that come to mind and that can get her a few strange looks. She usually has a lot of energy and shows it by doing twirls when she gets excited or jumping up and down happily. She's often easily excited and enjoys others' happiness as much as her own. History - The first bombshell to be dropped is that Vivian is a princess. The second is that she's a mermaid. Vivian is heir to the throne of Aegir, king of the sea. She grew up well loved by their subjects and learning the ways of the mer-queen. There's a small group of merfolk who broke off from the others because they disliked the king and absolutely detested his family. Set out to hurt the king in the worst way they could, they tricked Vivian into coming with them and kidnapped her. Their plan was to kill her once they swam a good distance away from the underwater kingdom, but the palace guards caught up to them quickly. In the struggle, Vivian's head was slammed into coral and the world went dark for her. The guards rescued her from the bad guys and returned with her to the palace. Worried that she wasn't safe and that a rebellion would soon start, Aegir ordered one of his most trusted guards to take her to the surface and keep her there until the sea was safe once again. The unconscious Vivian and her guard were stationed in a small village near the sea. When Vivian woke, she couldn't remember who she was and had no idea where she was and most definitely did not remember she was a mermaid. Other - When on land, mermaids' tails turn into legs in a sort of camouflage so that they can live among the humans. When fully submerged in water, the tail returns. Vivian must be kept away from the water so that she doesn't know she's a mermaid. The less she knows, the less likely the rebels will find her. She's a pretty young thing with jet black hair that tumbles down her back in loose waves. Her skin is soft and creamy, easily burning in the harsh sun. Her face is soft and feminine with eyes the color of amethysts, giving away her merfolk lineage. Merpeople tend to have different colored eyes from humans, reflecting the vibrant colors found under the crystalline waters. She also has powers over the water that she doesn't know about and shouldn't discover. Aegir wants her to blend in well with the humans so that she's as safe as she can possibly be.

[I'll just start with my girl to set up her situation and then once you post for Luna, then I'll post for Cam. I think it's easier that way. Also, I'm itching to post, hence why I'm doing it now : P]
She blinked awake, her eyes slowly adjusting to the light filtering into the room. Above her loomed a blurred face, which slowly came into focus with two sea foam green eyes and a handsome angular face. "Vivian?" the stranger with the beautiful eyes asked slowly. She squinted up at him in confusion, her mind extremely fuzzy. She tried to understand what was going on, where she was, who this person was, but anything that seemed remotely familiar hung at the edge of her mind, just out of her mental reach. So frustratingly close but too hard to grasp. She sat up slowly, her hand going to her head as she squeezed her eyes closed in an attempt to gather her fuzzy thoughts. "Vivian, are you okay?" The stranger asked again and she opened her eyes, wondering who he was talking to. He was looking at her in earnest, his bright eyes lined with worry. "Me?" she asked in confusion, her voice sounding melodic to her own ears as it danced through the air in a sweet and savory tone. "Yes, Vivian. You. Are you okay?" he repeated. "Yes..." she answered slowly, glancing around the room in confusion. "Is that my name? Where am I? Who are you?" she asked, her mind still feeling as if it were stuffed with cotton. "Yes, you're name is Vivian, you're in your new home, and I'm Rayen, an old friend." She looked up at him and a bright smile spread across her lips. "Oh, that's good. It's very nice to meet you, Rayen. Again, I suppose." She giggled, the sound tinkling in the air and lifting the dark air of the room. Rayen smiled in relief, glad to see that she was okay. And now his duty was done. He was to return to the palace and give the king a full report on the well fare of his daughter. He turned to Nathan, who stood in the doorway, the smile slipping from his face to a more serious expression. "I leave her in your care now. I will return tomorrow with your first payment and to check on her. Remember, I cannot stress enough that you must keep her away from water. She can't swim and if she drowned, my employer wouldn't think the slightest of disposing of you. She is very precious." He glanced back a final time at the princess sitting up in bed, her fragile frame outlined in the sunset. Turning toward Nathan with a pointed look, he exited the apartment, leaving the guard alone with his charge. Seeming to notice him for the first time, Vivian smiled warmly at Nathan. "Hello," she said sweetly. "I'm Vivian. Who are you? And where has Rayen gone?"

Nathanial stood in the doorway, watching as Rayen woke the slumbering woman before them. He was silently observing, taking every touch, every word into consideration, mapping out a sort of profile on Rayen and the relationship he had with the woman. The man seemed to care about her, but Nathan wasn't sue that it was anything like love. Perhaps he just really loved his job. One never knew. When the man turned his attentions to Nathan, he nodded. "Yeah, I got it. Don't let her get wet and never feed her after midnight," he said, arms crossed over his chest as he watched. "We'll meet you here," he said, his eyes flickering back over to Vivian as Rayen passed him, exiting the apartment. Nathan hadn't wanted Rayen in his home, but he had been unable to do anything else- there weren't many places you could trade an unconscious woman for cash. With Rayen gone, Nathan was left alone with Vivian, who had just woken up moments before. She was smiling, but he didn't smile back. "I'm Nathan." When she asked about the other man, he only shrugged. "I don't know- didn't ask, didn't care," he said. Running a hand through his brown hair then over his face, Nathanial rubbed at his scruff a little before sighing. "So." He said, sort of awkwardly. "Hungry?"

"But, I don't understand. I'm not doing anything wrong," a young girl said, looking up at the manager. The young man had come out from the back of the store, his only intention throwing Luna out. "I just wanted to sit here, sir," she said, gesturing to the chair in which she rested. "I'm sorry, miss," the man said, shaking his head, "But you can't. If you're not going to buy anything, I have to ask you to leave. There are other customers, paying customers, that would like to sit here." As if to illustrate his point, a man walked into the coffee shop at that moment, looking around with dark eyes. "I-" Luna began, but only sighed. "Thank you, for letting me stay for a moment," she said, smiling at the young manager. Another boy, one that took orders, had tried talking to his boss about letting her stay, but to no avail. She had used up her welcome, she knew, the other four or five times she had sat in the cafe for a while. She had known she couldn't do it forever, and she would have bought something, but she had run out of money. Since Luna had left the farmhouse in the country, Luna had been on her own. What little money she'd had on her person was long gone now, spent on food and water now and again. She stayed on the streets or in parks, wherever she could to get a little rest at night. She hadn't eaten in a few days, though, and her stomach growled noisily every so often. With a soft sigh, the young woman stood from the chair, her bare feet cool on the cold floor of the cafe, before she began walking to the door. "Excuse me," she said to the man, keeping her stunning green eyes down as she waited for him to move from the door. Once he was out of her way, Luna exited the establishment, shielding her eyes from the sun as she began walking slowly down the sidewalk.

Vivian's smile faded slowly at his short response to her questions, not getting the feeling that Nathan was the warmest person around. I didn't phase her too much, though, and she quickly recovered from the initial feeling of rejection that came from his aloof attitude. "Nathan is a strong name. I like it," she said, smiling once again. "Nathan..." She said his name slower, testing the feel of it and pondering it for a moment. However, at the mention of food, she was quickly pulled from her own little world. "Actually...yes," she said. Now that she thought about it, her stomach grumbled loudly. It felt like it had been days since she had eaten. She slid to the edge of the bed and paused a moment, looking down at her legs. Something seemed...wrong. Or maybe it wasn't wrong, but unfamiliar. Shaking off the strange feeling, she pushed herself off the bed. She staggered forward a few steps before collapsing to the floor with a small cry of alarm, her legs giving out beneath her. The sensation of walking had felt extremely foreign, like she had never done it before, but still she knew how to do it in the back of her mind, like an instinct.
Cam was sitting in his unmarked car across the street from the coffee shop Luna had been kicked out of. He had been watching her for a few days now, ever since he had been assigned to the investigation. He wanted to observe first, and make sure she wasn't mentally deranged and dangerous. Some amnesiacs could turn violent if frightened. He'd spent the past few days researching amnesia and his charge, questioning her parents about her normal activities and such. He had an in-depth profile, and now was his time to approach. As she walked away, he made a U-turn and drove slowly up the street beside her, turning on his lights. He rolled down the window, his mirrored sunglasses hiding his face. "Ma'am, please stop a moment. I'd like to ask you a few questions." Putting the car into park, he got out and pulled out his wallet with his badge and identification.

Nathan couldn't help but smile a little as Vivian continued to say his name. "Yeah?" he asked when she said she liked it, though he wasn't giving it too much thought. Instead, he was thinking about what kind of food she might want, or better yet, where he was going to get it. It's not that he couldn't cook, he was actually pretty good at it, he just didn't feel like doing it right then. While he had been thinking about food, Vivian had stood from the bed only to fall onto the floor. Uttering a quiet curse, Nathan squatted down to look her over, trying to figure out why she had fallen or if she had hurt anything. "You okay?" he asked, frowning as he probed her ankles, making she she hadn't strained them. "Here," he said after he was confident that she was okay, "Let me help." Nathan's arms went around the girl's small frame as he lifted her up and placed her back on her feet. "You good?" he asked, looking her over again. "Here, hold on to me," he told her having seen how unstable she seemed on her feet. She must be really, really hungry, he thought to himself before pushing it away. "So, what do you want to eat? Pretty much anything you can imagine is in the city," he told her with a slightly amused expression.
«☼»
As a car pulled up beside her, Luna went on edge. She didn't even look over at the driver, instead keeping her gaze straight ahead of her as she walked. Suddenly, there were flashing lights to her side, which of course made her look over. He's a cop? she thought, eyeing the driver of the car that was still following her. She decided she had better stop walking lest she get herself into trouble, just as the man spoke. He had a nice voice, though it was too formal for her taste. "What kind of questions?" she asked, her body tensing as he exited his vehicle and started towards her. Even flashing his badge did nothing to calm her nerves and beating heart. As he took a step in her direction, Luna took a step back, her green eyes hard as they followed him. She might not have a memory, but she had been alone long enough to know you couldn't trust people.

"I'm fine," Vivian replied to his inquiries. "Just unsteady, I guess." She didn't protest as he assisted her, the sensation of her feet on the ground extremely foreign. "I'm not sure I can do this," she said warily, afraid that if he let her go she would collapse again. The more weight she put on her appendages, the more she wobbled unsteadily. She gripped him tightly as he supported him, thanking him as she took her first few hesitant steps. The way her muscles moved in her legs felt odd and she wondered briefly why such a simple task seemed so strange to her. Had she harmed herself before? Maybe that was how she couldn't remember anything. With every step, her body seemed to adjust and learn quickly and she stopped after a moment, feeling more confident. "I think you can let go." She released her grip on him and waited for him to remove his arm before taking a few steps herself. She was a little unbalanced and she had to throw her arms out to catch herself but eventually she got the hang of it and could walk almost normally. "I did it!" she exclaimed happily, turning to beam at him. "I don't know what there is to eat. Why don't you choose and surprise me?" she suggested, unsure of exactly what food was and trying to picture it in her mind but lacking the mental picture.
Cam observed how quickly Luna tensed up and tried not to approach too closely. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable lest she fled or began to mistrust him. "It's alright, ma'am, I'm not here to harm you. Strictly business." He opened his notepad and pulled out his pen, taking the cap off with his teeth and then sticking it on the end. "May I please have some basic information? Name, age, address, occupation, etc. Anything you're willing to share. I just have a few questions relating to a case of a missing woman." He was trying to appear friendly and unthreatening. Perhaps warming her up with questions would be most advantageous before moving on to what he really wanted and convincing her to come with him so he could protect her more than he could on the streets where he'd been discreetly following her day and night to make sure she was out of trouble.

Nathanial was pretty glad that Vivian was letting him help her- he really didn't want to explain mysterious bruises to the man that had brought her here. When she admitted that she doubted her own abilities, Nathan only nodded and continued to help her, his strong hands helping to hold her upright as she walked. He let go slowly, almost hesitantly when she asked him to, a slight frown on his lips as he watched her take her first steps without him. He wanted to tell her to be careful, tell her to hold onto something lest she fall and break herself while in his care, but he didn't. Soon enough he was glad he hadn't stepped in- she was up and walking on her own just fine, as though it had never been a problem. Had he not seen how much she had struggled just minutes before, he would have wondered if she had been faking. Obviously pleased with herself, Nathan watched as she turned towards him, a bright grin on her lips. "Yes, you did," he said with a nod, the corner of his mouth almost hinting at an amused smile. It stayed there as she spoke of food, but he sighed a little anyway. "Right, of course you don't know what food is," he said with a small shake of his head. "Alright, come on down to the kitchen," he told her as he turned from the bedroom she had been in, making his way out into a small hallway before taking the stairs down and walking briskly to the kitchen. Once there, Nathan opened the 'fridge up and began rummaging about, deciding on cooking up a large breakfast. Pulling out eggs, sausage, bacon, and the ingredients for waffles, the man started to prepare food. It took a little while, but soon enough there was steaming food sitting on the counter just waiting to be eaten. "Hey, Vivian," he called, "Food's ready." With that, he sat and started making himself a plate.
Luna listened as the policeman spoke to her, the soothing and trustworthy air around him making her feel a little more lax and comfortable. She watched as he got his things out and ready, wondering what exactly this 'business' was. Before she could ask him though, he was asking for her basic information. If it was so basic, she thought, why couldn't she remember any of it? Deciding quickly that she shouldn't tell him that, Luna lied through her teeth, careful to make it all very believable. "Sure officer," she told him with a smile. "My name is Luna Johnson," she supplied easily before continuing, "I'm nineteen. I live in the apartments off of Garfield," she said since she knew that there were some there, "And I'm a.. Student. I go to NSU," she told him with a smile again. "Who's missing? I'll keep an eye out," she offered, honestly offering her help with the situation. She didn't realize he was talking about her, that she was the missing woman.
